Apple is expected to announce the iOS 18 at WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) in June 2024. The Cupertino-tech giant is rumoured to include RCS (Rich Communication Services) support in the Messages app and generative AI functionality in the upcoming version of iOS.

Months before the announcement, the list of iPhones that will get iOS 18 update surfaced online. MacRumors shared the list originally posted on a private X account. Since then, the account has deleted the list, adds the publication, though the account has a proven track record of accuracy on Apple leaks, it adds.

The list suggests that the iPhones launched in/after 2018 will be eligible for iOS 18 update. This means that all the iPhones that have iOS 17 update will also be updated to iOS 18. Take a look at the list of iPhones that will reportedly get iOS 18 update,

Apple rolled out the iOS 17 update for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, which were announced in 2018. However, as per the latest rumour, these iPhones will also get an iOS 18 update, which should come as a good surprise as these devices are now officially more than 5 years old. But Apple is known for ensuring that older devices continue to get support.

The iOS 18 will be unveiled at WWDC. The big changes are expected on the generative AI front, with Siri likely to support some of these features. Apple is expected to introduce auto-summary, etc, as part of the AI-based features.

We expect the company to roll out Public Beta sometime in July/August. The company usually releases the latest iOS Public release sometime in September/October. Apple iOS 18 update will be available for compatible iPhones sometime in September, later this year, after the new iPhone 16 series is officially released.
