INALSA SteelChef DW5.5 Air Fryer Launched in India With SS304 Stainless Steel Cooking Pan

INALSA has launched the SteelChef DW5.5 Air Fryer in India, expanding its air fryer portfolio after the Nutri Fry DuoSlim. The new model focuses on stainless steel cooking surfaces, with the brand positioning it around durability, everyday cooking convenience, and reduced-oil meals.

The INALSA SteelChef DW5.5 has an MRP of Rs 13,999, but it is currently available exclusively on Amazon at a special launch price of Rs 5,999. INALSA says the launch offer gives consumers savings of up to 60 percent, though prices may change at the company's discretion.

INALSA SteelChef DW5.5 Features

The SteelChef DW5.5 comes with a 5.5-litre capacity, which should make it suitable for regular family cooking. It is powered by a 1600W heating system and supports eight cooking functions, including frying, baking, grilling, and roasting.

Users can set the temperature between 80°C and 200°C, while the timer can be adjusted up to 60 minutes. The air fryer also gets a clear cook-viewing window, which allows users to monitor food without opening the basket and disturbing the heat inside. There is also an intelligent touch control panel for accessing cooking modes and settings.

The biggest talking point, however, is the use of SS304 food-grade stainless steel. INALSA says the appliance uses an SS304 stainless steel cooking pan and stainless steel separators across all contact areas. The company is positioning this as an alternative to coated cooking surfaces, which some consumers may worry about over long-term use.

Why INALSA Is Betting on Stainless Steel

Air fryers are no longer competing only on capacity, wattage or presets. Brands are now also trying to differentiate through the material of the cooking chamber and basket. Many popular air fryers still use steel or aluminised steel parts with non-stick coatings, while some newer models are experimenting with glass bowls, transparent cooking containers and stainless steel interiors. Philips, for instance, says its air fryer pans, baskets and accessories are generally made of steel or aluminised steel and mostly use non-stick coatings, while Wonderchef also highlights non-stick baskets on some of its air fryer models. There are newer brands like Nuuk that are propogating the use of ceramic coating.

This is where INALSA is trying to build a clearer point of difference. The SteelChef DW5.5 uses an SS304 food-grade stainless steel cooking pan and stainless steel separators across all contact areas. The company is positioning this as a more familiar and durable alternative for Indian kitchens, where stainless steel already has strong trust as an everyday cooking material.

The timing also makes sense because the category itself is slowly moving beyond the standard black plastic body and coated basket format. Glass bowl air fryers and stainless steel interior models have started appearing in the market, with brands using these materials to address concerns around visibility, cleaning, coatings and long-term durability. INALSA's pitch, therefore, is not just about healthier cooking with less oil, but also about what the food actually comes in contact with during the cooking process.

Speaking on the launch, Jitendra Chauhan, CEO of INALSA, said, "The strong response to our DuoSlim Air Fryer reinforced a growing consumer focus on healthier lifestyles and smarter cooking solutions. As these expectations evolve, we felt there was an opportunity to create a product that combines modern technology with trusted materials."

He added that air fryers have transformed everyday cooking, but the materials used inside them have largely remained unchanged. "With the SteelChef DW5.5, we have brought SS304 stainless steel into the heart of the cooking experience, delivering a solution that is modern, convenient, and designed for everyday use," he said.
