Robot vacuum cleaners are fast becoming part of mainstream Indian households, reflecting a shift toward smarter, hands-free cleaning solutions. The value of such devices has only grown since the pandemic, as hygiene, convenience, and time-saving appliances became essential for urban families. Over the past year, the segment has matured rapidly with better affordability, improved mapping accuracy, and models tailored for Indian flooring.
Despite this growth, penetration of robo-cleaners in India remains around 1% of households, indicating a large untapped opportunity. Dreame has been one of the most aggressive players driving this change, steadily increasing its launch pace and widening its portfolio, from entry-level cleaners like the D9 Max Gen 2 to advanced options such as the Dreame F10. This strategy positions the brand across multiple price tiers, competing directly with players like Ecovacs and Xiaomi in the ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 bracket. As demand expands, brands are now emphasising suction power, intelligent navigation, and dual-function vacuum-mop designs, making this one of the fastest-evolving home appliance categories in India.
Design
At first glance, the Dreame F10 looks like any other robot vacuum cleaner you might see in stores or online. It follows the familiar circular design that has become standard for the category, but it carries a sense of refinement in the way it has been put together. The mix of glossy and matte surfaces gives it a clean, modern look that fits easily into most home interiors. It is not a product that tries to stand out, yet it feels neat, balanced, and well constructed. When you pick it up, the body feels solid, with a reassuring weight and no loose or hollow parts that would suggest poor build quality.

At about 10 centimetres tall, the F10 is slim enough to slide under most beds, sofas, and cabinets, reaching spots that are usually ignored during regular cleaning. The 570 ml dustbin is large enough to handle multiple cleaning sessions, while the 235 ml water tank can cover a few rooms before needing a refill. The compact charging dock sits unobtrusively against a wall, making it easy to place even in smaller apartments. One of its most practical touches is that both the dustbin and the water tank can remain attached at the same time, so it can vacuum and mop simultaneously without any manual swapping. The Haier Smart Vacuum cleaner that I had reviewed about a year ago required me to physically switch these, and it was a major annoyance. The accessories, including the side brush, mop pad, and all-rubber floating brush, feel sturdy and well designed, adding to the overall impression of thoughtful engineering and everyday usability.

Navigation, Cleaning and Battery Life
The Dreame F10 is powered by a 5,200mAh battery, and the company claims up to 300 minutes of runtime on a single charge. In real-world use, a 69-minute cleaning and mapping session drained about 20% of the battery, which is quite efficient. Charging from zero to full takes roughly takes a little over an hour, after which the robot automatically resumes cleaning from where it stopped. It also gives voice alerts for battery status and other updates, although the default volume is on the lower side. In a typical Indian home where ceiling fans, air purifiers, and air conditioners are running, the notifications are easy to miss unless you are close to the device.

The Dreame F10 uses LiDAR navigation and begins each run by tracing the edges of a room before cleaning in an S-shaped path. It handles furniture and obstacles smartly and uses cliff sensors to detect stairs or drops, circling back safely when needed. The DreameHome app, available on iOS and Android, adds an extra layer of convenience. You can monitor battery percentage, schedule cleaning sessions, set up no-go zones or no-mop areas, and even create multi-floor maps. Features such as virtual boundaries and zone cleaning work as intended, helping you control where and how the vacuum cleans.
In practical use, the mapping performance is mostly accurate, though it isn’t flawless. It occasionally misreads smaller areas. For instance, it identified a walk-in closet as a separate room, but overall, it mapped spaces quickly and efficiently. Another issue I found during my time with the device is that in smaller areas, such as the walk-in closet or the kitchen, it has more chances of making mistakes and skipping on smaller corners.
The “Daily Mopping” mode, which consumes less battery, did a decent job of maintaining clean floors between deeper cleaning cycles.
While we haven’t tested competing models directly, similar robot vacuums in this price range, like the Xiaomi Mop 2i, Eureka Forbes Robo Vac, and Ecovacs Deebot N10, list considerably lower suction ratings on paper. The Dreame F10’s Vormax system is rated at 13,000Pa compared to 2,200–4,300Pa on these models, which explains why it feels more powerful in everyday cleaning. Combined with a larger 570ml dustbin and a respectable 235ml water tank, the F10 manages to strike a balance between strong suction, smart navigation, and practical battery life for typical Indian homes.
However, maintenance is where the F10 starts to test your patience. You still need to manually empty the dustbin and refill the water tank, which is fine, but cleaning the microfiber mop pad after one or two uses can be tedious once the dirt has dried and settled. The toughest part, though, is removing tangled hair from the main brush. If you have pets or suffer from heavy hair fall, be prepared for some effort. This is by far the least enjoyable part of the experience and something I have faced with every RVC that I have reviewed in the last two years.

Verdict
The Dreame F10 is a well-rounded robot vacuum-mop that blends powerful cleaning with long battery life and smart mapping. It delivers consistent results on hard floors, handles everyday messes easily, and is easy to set up and use through the DreameHome app. While maintenance tasks like cleaning the mop pad and detangling hair from the brush can be cumbersome, its overall performance and efficiency make it one of the better mid-range options available in India.
