ASUS has launched the ROG Phone 7 series in India. The new ROG Phone 7 series includes two smartphones at the moment. There is the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, which sits above the vanilla ROG Phone 7. The key difference between the two phones is the Ultimate variant gets more RAM and storage under the hood. It also gets the ROG Vision PMOLED display on the back, which offers support for customisable graphics for different scenarios like incoming calls, launching a game, entering X-Mode, etc.

The Ultimate model also gets support for the new AeroActive Portal 7, which works with the AeroActive Cooler 7. Let’s take a look at the ASUS ROG Phone 7, ROG Phone 7 Ultimate price in India, specifications and other details revealed at the launch.


ASUS ROG Phone 7, ROG Phone 7 Ultimate Price in India and Specifications 

The ASUS ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate are two new gaming flagship smartphones launched with top-of-the-line hardware. The ROG Phone 7 packs 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is priced at Rs 74,999. The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate, on the other hand, offers 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is priced at Rs 99,999

The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate is available in a single Storm White colour. The vanilla model will be available in Phantom Black and Storm White colours.

The ROG Phone 7 series will go on sale in India from the month of May via Vijay Sales.

In terms of specifications, the ROG Phone 7 and 7 Ultimate feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with a peak clock speed of 3.2GHz. There is an Adreno 740 GPU and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. Asus claims that the ROG Phone 7 series has an AnTuTu score of 1,360,082 points, which is second to the Red Magic 8 Pro+’s score of 1,308,126 points.

For an enhanced gaming experience, the ROG Phone 7 series features an AirTrigger system and ultrasonic buttons, which allows users to map up to 14 different touch points on the screen simultaneously. 

On the front, the phones sport a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 2448 x 1080-pixel resolution and HDR10+ certification. The screen offers support for a 165Hz refresh rate and a 720Hz touch sampling rate. There is support for up to 1500 nits of peak brightness, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The phones come with an IP54 rating for the first time ever in the ROG Phone series. On the back, the ROG Phone 7 series features a triple-camera setup. There is a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera sensor along with a 13MP ultra-wide camera and an 8MP macro shooter. The devices feature a 32MP front camera sensor. Both phones come with a stereo speaker setup with Dirac HD Sound. They have support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, two USB Type-C ports (one at the bottom and one on the side), a 3.5mm headphone jack, etc. 

The ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate pack a 6000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging support. The devices will ship with a 30W PD 3.0 charger in the box. Both devices weigh about 239 grams and measure 173 x 77 x 10.3 mm.

Accessories and Features

The ROG Phone 7 series run Android 13 out of the box with the option to switch between the custom ROG UI or Zen UI skins on top. The former is heavily customised and unlocks several gaming features that complement the hardware. Both models will get two major Android updates and security support for four years.

The gaming phones come with a GameCool 7 cooling system, which claims to bring the temperature down by up to 10 degrees. The system comprises the new re-designed ROG Rapid-Cycle Vapour Chamber and extensive graphite sheets, which help spread the heat evenly across the device.

There is also a new AeroActive Cooler 7. Upon attaching the accessory to the phone using the side-mounted port, the AeroActive Cooler 7 has the capability of bringing down the temperature by up to 25 degrees.

The new accessory also acts as a Subwoofer when connected to the phone. It also features an integrated Thermoelectric AI Cooling System, a separate USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom.

AeroActive Cooler 7 unlocks X Mode+, a boosted version of the already superior performance mode that unlocks the hardware’s full potential while playing games or dealing with intensive tasks. The system also comes with Dynamic Mode (optimised performance for daily use), Ultra-durable Mode and Advanced Mode (customisable mode for adjusting network, display, performance & touch settings).

ROG Phone 7 features support for ASUS’ Armoury Crate, which is the company’s portal for customising the experience even further.

In addition to the above, the ROG Phone 7 series supports other accessories, such as the ROG Clip (an accessory which includes three different mounts for attaching the phone on top of the PS4 controller, Xbox Controller 3 or Stadia controller), a professional dock (a  port expansion accessory that allows the ROG Phone 7 to connect to an HDMI display and two USB devices), Kunai 3 GamePad, AeroActive Cooler 6, Aero Case Bumper, etc.
