ASUS India, earlier today, launched its lineup of ZenBook Duo and ZenBook Pro Duo notebooks in India at an event in Delhi. The USP of the ZenBook Duo lineup, in case you aren’t aware, is the secondary display above the keyboard that is aimed primarily at professionals working in the creative space. ASUS calls this additional display the ASUS Screenpad. It works in tandem with the main display at the top and provides an extra layer of interactivity to the user. The Screenpad offers customized menu options that change depending on the application being used in the main display. As mentioned earlier, ASUS has targeted people working in video editing, music, and photography space with the ZenBook Duo and the Pro Duo. The secondary display at the bottom aside, the ZenBook Duo functions like a normal compact notebook. Let us now take a closer look at the specifications of both these laptops.

ASUS Zenbook Duo specifications, features

The ASUS ZenBook Duo is a powerful little machine and comes powered by Intel’s tenth generation (Comet Lake) Core i7 and i5 CPUs. In India, it is offered with the Intel Core i7-10510U and the Intel Core i5-10210U processor options and uses the NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU with up to 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM for graphics acceleration. In India, the ASUS ZenBook Duo comes in two RAM options 8GB and 16GB (2133MHz LPDDR3). The ASUS ZenBook Duo only offers SSD as the storage medium and depending on the model you buy, you could get a 256GB PCIe Gen3 x2, A 512GB PCIe Gen3 x2, or a 1TB PCIe Gen3 x4 SSD.

The ASUS ZenBook Duo is a compact machine and gets a 14-inch LED-backlot display with FullHD resolution. The bezels on the display of the ZenBook Duo are compact and measure just 3.5mm. The notebook offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90 percent. The IPS panel has excellent 178-degree wide viewing angles and offers 100% sRGB coverage. The secondary ‘Screenpad’ display measures 12.6-inches across and is touch-enabled. Like the main display, this panel also offers a 178-degree viewing angle. Below the Screenpad is a full-size keyboard with LED backlight for use in dimly lit situations. Apart from the keyboard and the Screenpad, the Zenbook Duo also manages to cram in a touchpad on the bottom right corner of the machine.

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo: Specifications, Key Features

The ASUS ZenfBook Pro Duo os the more premium of the two devices launched today. It is larger and more powerful than the ZenBook Pro and for the same reason, has a higher price tag as well. The ZenBook Pro Duo is offered in two processor options in India — the first one getting the top-of-the-line Intel Core i9-9980HK processor and the second option packing the Intel Core i7-9750H processor. Both these variants use the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM for graphics. The machine is offered in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB 2666MHz DDR4 RAM options. Storage options on the Pro Duo include 256GB PCIe Gen3 x2, 512GB PCIe Gen3 x2, 1TB PCIe Gen3 x4 Intel Optane Memory H10.

The ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo gets a large 15.6-inch OLED display with 4k resolution – a significant upgrade over the standard IPS panel used on the ZenBook Duo. Like its little brother, the ZenBook Pro Duo also gets thin bezels and has a screen-to-body ratio of 89%. This display also offers a 178-degree viewing angle and supports 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The secondary Screenpad display measures 14-inches across and also has 4K resolution (3840 x 1100 pixels). This touchscreen panel also gets a 178-degree viewing angle and supports up to four-finger smart gestures. The machine also gets a dedicated number pad and a touchpad.
