KRAFTON India has rolled out the BGMI 5th Anniversary Edition 4.5 Update, bringing together its biggest crossover season yet with simultaneous collaborations featuring Naruto: Ninjas Assemble, Marvel's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Ferrari. The update also introduces new WOW Mode experiences, India-themed Card Collections, new X-Suits, and additional social features as BGMI celebrates five years in India. According to KRAFTON, the game has now crossed 260 million players in the country and is increasingly evolving from a battle royale title into a platform centred around gaming, creation, and social interaction.
The Naruto collaboration serves as the headline experience of the update, transforming Erangel and Livik into the Hidden Leaf Village complete with locations such as Hokage Rock, Ichiraku Ramen, and the Ninja Academy. Players gain access to new ninjutsu abilities including Rasengan, Chidori, Flying Raijin Jutsu, Voice-Activated Ninjutsu, and Ninja Run, alongside multi-phase Kurama boss battles. KRAFTON is also introducing a server-wide Kurama Defense event where players work together to defend the village, while Naruto-themed skins and rewards arrive through dedicated events and the Naruto Gold Spin.
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day collaboration arrives on July 30 and introduces superhero-inspired traversal mechanics including Web Swing, Spider Climb, Spider-Sense, and Web Attack. Players will also be able to explore Skyline Plaza, Peter Parker's apartment, and Aunt May's grave as part of the themed gameplay experience. The collaboration has been timed to coincide with the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, allowing players to experience the character both inside the game and on the big screen during the same week.
Ferrari also makes its first appearance in BGMI with four licensed vehicles, including the Roma, Purosangue, LaFerrari, and SF90 XX Spider, each available in multiple colour variants.
Beyond the collaborations, BGMI's creator ecosystem receives another expansion through WOW Mode. KRAFTON says more than 50,000 creators have already built maps played tens of millions of times, and the 4.5 update adds new experiences such as Steal a Brain Rot and Shoot a Brain Rot, developed in collaboration with DoBiG. The company says these additions further reinforce its vision of turning BGMI into a creator-driven platform rather than simply a competitive shooter.
The update also refreshes BGMI's Card Collection System with new India-themed and Naruto-themed cards, easier collection and exchange mechanics, and a Flash Card featuring the Karambit – Blazing Sun. Meanwhile, three new X-Suits debut with a revised progression system that allows players to unlock upgrade materials by completing missions instead of relying entirely on premium purchases. Social features have also been expanded with Team-Up Reservation, allowing squads to schedule matches up to seven days in advance, alongside new Flash Crew rewards and improved squad privacy controls.
Commenting on the rollout, Srinjoy Das, Director, Marketing and BGMI Product Management at KRAFTON India, said the company has spent the past two years transforming BGMI into a platform where players can create, socialise, and build experiences beyond traditional gameplay. He highlighted the growth of WOW Mode, India-themed collectibles, and global collaborations as milestones in that long-term vision.
The anniversary season will continue over the coming weeks with a staggered rollout of content. Naruto events begin immediately, Spider-Man gameplay arrives on July 30, CarryMinati's collaboration is scheduled for August 15, while Ferrari-themed events continue through early September. KRAFTON says additional reveals are also planned during the anniversary celebrations.
The BGMI 5th Anniversary Edition 4.5 Update is less about a single collaboration and more about KRAFTON's broader strategy for the title. By combining anime, superhero, automotive, creator, and community-driven experiences into one update, the company is positioning BGMI as an entertainment platform that extends well beyond battle royale gameplay.
