KRAFTON India Announces H2 2026 BGMI Esports Roadmap With BMIC and BMSD, Bringing Asia’s Top Teams to Mumbai

KRAFTON India has unveiled its H2 2026 esports roadmap for BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA (BGMI), announcing two major tournaments, the BGMI International Cup (BMIC) Season 2 and the BGMI Showdown (BMSD). The company says the second half of the competitive season will feature international matchups, invite-only championships, and LAN finals in Mumbai as it looks to further strengthen India's esports ecosystem.

BGMI International Cup (BMIC) Season 2

The BGMI International Cup (BMIC) Season 2 will be held from October 30 to November 1 at the Dome, SVP Indoor Stadium in Mumbai. The Grand Finals will feature 16 teams, including six teams from India, five from Korea, and five from Japan, competing for a prize pool of Rs 1 crore. According to KRAFTON, the tournament aims to bring together some of Asia's strongest BGMI teams while giving Indian squads an opportunity to compete against international rivals on home soil.

BGMI Showdown (BMSD)

Ahead of BMIC, KRAFTON will host the BGMI Showdown (BMSD), an invite-only tournament featuring 48 of India's top-performing teams selected through the KIE Leaderboard, BGIS, and BMPS. Unlike open tournaments, teams will qualify only through their performances across the season. The competition begins on September 22 with Promotion and Relegation stages before progressing through Survival rounds, Semi Finals, the Last Chance stage, and concluding with the LAN Grand Finals from October 16 to October 18. The tournament will also offer a Rs 1 crore prize pool.

KRAFTON's H2 Esports Vision

Commenting on the announcement, Karan Pathak, Associate Director – Esports at KRAFTON India, said the company wants every competitive season to grow not only in scale but also in the quality of competition. He added that while BMIC will bring some of Asia's strongest teams to Mumbai, BMSD has been designed to reward India's most consistent performers throughout the season.

KRAFTON believes India's esports industry is entering a new phase as growing audiences, increasing government recognition, Tier-2 market adoption, and international opportunities continue to accelerate the ecosystem. Through the H2 roadmap, the company aims to create bigger stages, stronger regional rivalries, and world-class competitive experiences for players and fans alike.

Rather than announcing another standalone tournament, KRAFTON has built a structured competitive calendar where domestic consistency feeds into international opportunities. The addition of BMIC gives Indian BGMI teams a rare chance to compete against top Korean and Japanese squads on home soil, while BMSD raises the value of season-long performances instead of relying solely on open qualifiers. If executed successfully, the H2 roadmap could become one of the biggest milestones for India's BGMI esports scene in 2026.
