Google Pixel 8 Pro Spotted on Geekbench With Tensor G3

The Google Pixel 8 Pro has been spotted on Geekbench, with the new Tensor G3 processor. Benchmarks reveal that the Tensor G3 is a nine-core processor with three different clusters.

The first cluster contains four cores clocked at 1.7 GHz, and the second cluster again has four cores clocked at 2.37 GHz, along with a single core clocked at 2.91 GHz. The Tensor G3 chipset will be clocked at a base frequency of 1.7 GHz.

As per a previous leak, the cores on the Tensor G3 are four Cortex-A715 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores, along with a single Cortex X3 core. Although the current Geeekbench listing does not reveal exact core details, it is likely that the Tensor G3 will have this exact configuration from previous benchmark listings.

Apart from the Tensor G3 processor, the new Geekbench listing of the Pixel 8 Pro also reveals that the device will feature 12GB RAM. The Pixel 8 Pro will also be the first device to boot Android 14 out of the box.

Tensor G3 Benchmarks Are 20% Higher Than Tensor G2

The Geekbench comparison between the Tensor G2 on the Pixel 7 Pro and the Tensor G3 on the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro reveals that Google’s new in-house processor is scoring 20% higher in benchmarks.

Device ==> Pixel 7 Pro (Tensor G2) Pixel 8 Pro (Tensor G3)
Single Core 1407 1760
Multi-Core 3384 4442

The Tensor G2 is an octa-core processor that comes in a 2+2+4 combination of Cortex-X1, A78, and A55 cores. The new Tensor G3 is a nine-core processor, in a 4+4+1 combination with the new Cortex-A715. A510, and a single Cortex X3 core.

The powerful cores on the Tensor G3 are able to generate 20% higher Geekbench scores, which indicates that the Pixel 8 Pro should offer major performance improvements over the Pixel 7 Pro. The new Google flagship is also expected to feature UFS 4.0 storage.

The Google Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro will be officially unveiled by the company on October 4. Google will also launch the Pixel Watch 2, along with Android 14 in the same event. Pre-orders for the Pixel 8 Series in India will begin on October 4 exclusively on Flipkart.

Renders of the Pixel 8 were exclusively revealed by MySmartPrice a few months back. The Pixel 8 will feature a similar design to the Pixel 7, with minor changes. The upcoming Google flagship is expected to be slightly shorter in height while being more wider.
