Google might launch a new Pixel foldable smartphone next year. The company has not officially confirmed any details but the rumour mill has been churning out some key details about the foldable smartphone from Google. Recently, design renders of the upcoming Google Pixel Fold leaked online. A new leak has now shared some design renders and key details about the Pixel Fold.
The latest leak comes from tipster OnLeaks, who along with HowToISolve, has uploaded the 5K renders of the upcoming Pixel Fold. Let’s take a look at the new Google Pixel Fold design renders, specifications and other details revealed so far.
Google Pixel Fold: New Design Renders Surface Online
The Google Pixel Fold will be the company’s first foldable smartphone and is expected to compete against the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Tipster OnLeaks has revealed some more details in his latest leak, which were missing in the previous one uploaded by Jon Prosser. For starters, the latest leak reveals the display size and the overall dimensions of the Pixel Fold. The tipster claims that the Pixel Fold’s inner display will be 7.69-inch diagonally tall. It will have some bezels at the top and bottom. The right side of the top bezel houses one of the two front cameras.
The second front camera is located in the hole-punch cutout of the cover display. OnLeaks claims that the outer display will be 5.79 inches tall. The frame is made of metal as there are antenna lines along the chassis.
We also see a Pixel 7 Pro-like camera sensor layout. While the Pixel Fold has a visor on the back, it is not end-to-end like the Pixel 7 series. The protruding camera module houses a triple-camera setup with an LED flash. There is also a microphone cutout below the LED flash module.
The bottom edge of the foldable phone houses the USB Type-C port, a speaker grille and a couple of tiny cutouts, possibly for the microphones. The top edge also seems to have cutouts for the secondary speaker. On the right edge, there are the power and volume buttons.
OnLeaks claims that the Pixel Fold would measure 158.7 x 139.7 x 5.7mm, which is quite slim. However, if you include the camera bump, the device will measure 8.3mm.
The device is rumoured to launch in two colours — Chalk and Obsidian. Previous leaks also suggest that the phone will come with a 9.5MP front camera for the foldable display and the outer screen. Details about the rear camera setup are unknown.
We recently spotted a Google smartphone codenamed Felix on Geekbench, which could be the upcoming Pixel Fold. It was listed on Geekbench with the Google Tensor G2 SoC and 12GB of RAM. The listing also revealed that the Google phone was running Android 13 out of the box. The Pixel Fold is tipped to launch in the US for $1799 (roughly Rs 1,48,300). It is likely to launch at the Google I/O 2023, which could be hosted in May 2023. What are your thoughts on the Pixel Fold? Let us know in the comments section below.
