Google Pixel Fold: Specifications Known So Far

The Google Pixel Fold will be the company’s first foldable phone launching in the US and other markets. It is said to debut on May 10. Ahead of the launch, the Pixel Fold specifications have leaked online. A new leak by Brar reveals that the phone will pack a 4500mAh battery under the hood. The battery capacity is bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Brar further revealed that the foldable smartphone will offer support for 23W fast charging. It is unlikely that Google will pack a charger in the box as the Pixel 7 series also does not come with one bundled with the retail unit.

Brar claims that the Pixel Fold will sport a 5.8-inch HD+ display on the outside. While the display size is in line with a recent leak, tipster Jon Prosser claimed that the Pixel Fold’s outer display will have a Full HD+ resolution. Prosser had also claimed that the Pixel Fold’s outer display will have support for a 120Hz refresh rate, a 17:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 408 PPI.

The tipster also revealed that the Pixel Fold will sport a 7.6-inch foldable display with a 6:5 aspect ratio and 2208 × 1840-pixel resolution. The foldable display will offer support for a 120Hz refresh rate as well.

A leaked real-life video of the Pixel Fold revealed that the foldable display has thick bezels at the top and bottom. The sides, in comparison, have slightly thinner bezels. The outer display has a hole-punch cutout at the top centre for the front camera.

The Pixel Fold will feature two front camera sensors. The outer display will have a 9.5MP front camera, whereas the top bezel on the inside will feature an 8MP front camera. On the back, there will be a triple-camera setup. The Pixel Fold will feature a 48MP main camera with support for optical image stabilisation. There will also be two 10.8MP sensors for ultra-wide and telephoto shots. The telephoto camera will have up to 5x optical zoom support, whereas the ultra-wide camera will have a 121.1-degree field of view.

There will be a Tensor G2 SoC and the Titan M2 security chip under the hood. Google Pixel Fold is said to launch with two storage options. The base model will offer 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which could be priced at $1,799 (roughly Rs 1,47,500). There will be a 12GB + 512GB variant of the foldable phone as well, which will be priced at $1919 (roughly Rs 1,57,400). The Pixel Fold will debut in Chalk and Obsidian colours.
