Huawei sub-brand Honor today announced on Weibo that it will be launching the Honor 20i and Honor Magicbook 2019 at an event in China on April 17 . The upcoming Honor 20i is expected to be nearly identical to the Honor 10i in most areas, including design. After showing up on the TENAA website, a variant of the Honor 20i bearing model number HRY-AL00Ta has now appeared on the Geekbench database ahead of the official unveiling next week.

Honor 20i Geekbench Listing Confirms Kirin 710 Chipset

The Honor 20i HRY-AL00Ta listing on Geekbench confirms the smartphone will feature a HiSilicon Kirin 710 octa-core chipset, coupled with 4GB of RAM. However, as revealed by the smartphone’s appearance on the TENAA website earlier this month, the Honor 20i will be available in a 6GB RAM variant as well. As for storage, the phone will be offered in 64GB and 128GB variants. On the software front, the Honor 20i will be running on the latest EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie OS.

Apart from the differences in the memory department, you can expect the Honor 20i to be identical to the Honor 10i in other areas. The smartphone is expected to have a 6.21-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2340 pixels Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, as suggested by the Geekbench listing above, Honor 20i will be running on a Kirin 710 chipset. At the rear, it will include a triple-camera setup with a 24MP primary sensor, an 8MP secondary sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it will have an impressive 32MP resolution AI selfie camera.

In addition to the Honor 20i, we have also spotted a Huawei Y9 (2019) JKM-LX1 variant on Geekbench running on Android 9.0 Pie. If the listing is genuine, it suggests Huawei is currently testing the EMUI 9.0 update for the smartphone and may begin rolling out the stable update in the near future.
