The Intel Core Ultra, built on the Intel’s 4 process technology, marks the most significant architectural shift in Intel’s history. This powerhouse incorporates Foveros 3D advanced packaging technology, leveraging dedicated AI acceleration across CPU, GPU, and the latest addition – the neural processing unit (NPU). According to the company, this makes the Intel Core Ultra the most AI-capable and power-efficient client processor they’ve ever crafted.

The latest chipsets flaunt a Performance-core (P-core) architecture, delivering up to 11% improved instructions per cycle (IPC) for unparalleled CPU computing in ultrathin PCs. The processor’s built-in Intel Arc GPU, featuring up to eight Xe-cores, promises double the graphics performance of its predecessor. Intel’s newest NPU, the Intel AI Boost, claims to handle longer-running AI workloads at low power, contributing to a 2.5x improvement in power efficiency.

The Core Ultra processors will also power Intel Evo edition laptops. These laptops are said to deliver smooth and intelligent performance thanks to enhanced power economy, cooler performance, and a plethora of premium features like Intel Unison.

AI Everywhere: Unexpected Applications

Intel’s AI vision extends beyond traditional computing spaces. Imagine a restaurant guiding your menu choices, a manufacturing floor ensuring quality control, or an ultrasound catching details the human eye might miss – all powered by AI. The goal is to make AI hardware accessible, and Intel is embedding optimizations into popular AI frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow to achieve that.

Moreover, the company also gave a sneak peek into the Gaudi3 AI Accelerator program, which is set to debut next year. This next-gen AI accelerator aims to advance deep learning and large-scale generative AI models.

Intel Core Ultra Availability

The latest Intel Core Ultra mobile processors are now available worldwide in online and offline markets. It will power over 230 of the world’s first AI PCs from partners like Acer, ASUS, Dell, Dynabook, Gigabyte, Google Chromebook, HP, Lenovo, LG, Microsoft Surface, MSI, and Samsung.
