  • The new feature allows WhatsApp users to listen to video and music audio together.

WhatsApp is introducing video and music audio sharing on video call feature for its users. Notably, the Meta-owned chat platform is constantly striving to improve the user experience on its platform, especially the group and video calling. The newest feature spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS version allows users to enjoy listening to music together on a video call using the screen-sharing feature. Interested users can download and install the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS using the Testflight app. Let’s take a look at the music audio-sharing feature of WhatsApp and how it works.

WhatsApp users Can Now Enjoy Video and Music Audio Together on Video Calls

WhatsApp video call screen sharing will soon allow users to enjoy music audio together.

WABetaInfo spotted the feature in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS, which can be downloaded from the Testflight app. As you can see in the screenshot posted above, the latest video call feature allows the video call participants to enjoy video or music audio together when someone in the video call shares their screen. This is different from playing the audio for the group.

When a user turns on screen sharing in a video call and plays a music or video file, the audio will be shared in real-time with the participants by creating a more immersive and shared audio-visual experience. However, there is a catch here. The feature doesn’t work with WhatsApp voice calls and is not supported on video calls where the video is turned off.

The ability to share music and video audio with group call participants adds a dynamic layer to the video calls. The whole experience is made much more interactive by the addition of the new feature. Users can enjoy the latest album of their favorite band, favourite tracks from the latest movies, or watch videos together with audio being shared through video call protocol. As of now, the feature is only available to WhatsApp beta for iOS users. It has not been spotted on the Android beta app. But we can expect WhatsApp to roll out the feature to the general public globally soon.

Recently, WhatsApp also added the ability to forward channels to contacts in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update. Moreover, users can now verify their WhatsApp accounts using their email address. The instant messaging platform has also added the option to share status to Instagram, share media as documents on iOS, user names, secret code, and more.
