iPhone 14 launch event will be hosted on September 7. At the Apple event, the company will launch four new iPhone models. These include the iPhone 14, 14 Max, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. The Pro models are rumoured to get major upgrades compared to the vanilla models. With the number of upgrades incoming, Apple is also said to increase the price of the iPhone 14 series. A new TrendForce report (via), however, claims otherwise.

The report claimed that the iPhone 14 price could be lower than expected. The base iPhone 13 128GB came with a launch price of $799 and according to TrendForce, the iPhone 14 price could be cheaper by $50 in the US. This means that the iPhone 14 price could start at $749 (roughly Rs 59,600). The report further stated that the 14 Max could come with a starting price of $849 (roughly Rs 67,600), as opposed to the rumoured price tag of $900 (roughly Rs 71,700).

Apple is said to be playing it safe and not increasing the price as aggressively due to the rising global inflation and foreign exchange rates. The company wants to opt for a more cautious pricing strategy so as to not let these factors affect its sales performance.

TrendForce analysts further corroborated some of the previous reports and stated that the 14 Pro and the 14 Pro Max will get a price bump this year. However, the increase in price could be between $50-$100 for both models. This means that the 14 Pro could have a launch price of $1049 (roughly Rs 83,500), whereas the 14 Pro Max could cost $1149 (roughly Rs 91,500).

iPhone 14 Series Specifications

Apple’s new Pro lineup will get most of the upgrades this year. The company will launch its 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays. The OLED screens will support a 120Hz ProMotion display. They will also ditch the notch in favour of a hole punch and a pill-shaped cutout. The Pro models will also get an upgraded 48MP main camera sensor along with a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP telephoto camera.

The standard 14 and 14 Max will also sport a 6.1-inch and a 6.7-inch OLED display. However, they will get support for a standard 60Hz refresh rate and continue to sport that wide notch which we see in the 13 series.

Apple is also said to offer the new A16 Bionic chip in the Pro models, whereas the standard iPhone models could get the A15 Bionic chip. All four iPhones this year will get 6GB of RAM. The battery size is also said to get bigger on select models. iPhone 14 Pro will pack a 3200 mAh battery, whereas the iPhone 14 Pro Max will pack a 4323 mAh battery.

The standard 14 will pack a 3279 mAh battery, whereas the 14 Max will pack a 4325 mAh battery. The new iPhones will run iOS 16 out of the box.
