iPhone 15 series launch event is likely to be hosted in September. Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max at the September event. We are still a few months away from the iPhone 15 launch event but the rumour mill has already started churning out some key details about the 2024 iPhone models. The latest leak by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed some display details about the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. Alongside, a separate leak has revealed some camera specifications of the top-end iPhones launching next year.

Apple is said to make the Pro iPhones bigger next year. According to the latest leaks, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will sport the biggest display in an iPhone ever. Apple is also likely to introduce a new camera sensor next year in the Pro models. Let’s take a look at the key iPhone 16 Pro series specifications, features and other details leaked so far.

iPhone 16 Pro Models Could be Bigger than the iPhone 15 Pro Series

Apple is likely to launch the iPhone 16 series with a new display and camera sensor. The non-Pro models might continue to sport 6.1 and 6.7-inch panels. According to Gurman, Apple’s 2024 Pro iPhones will sport 6.3 and 6.9-inch displays. The tipster, in his weekly newsletter, said (via) that Apple plans to increase the display size of its two Pro iPhones next year by “a couple of tenths of an inch diagonally.”

Gurman noted that the change will make Apple’s high-end smartphones more competitive with the equivalent devices offered by Samsung. It could also enable Apple to pack improved hardware, such as camera technology and larger batteries.

The leak corroborates a recent report by DSCC’s Ross Young, who claimed that the 16 Pro models next year will sport 6.3 and 6.7-inch displays. This was followed by another report, which revealed the CAD renders of the top-end 16 Pro Max. It revealed that the 16 Pro Max will have a height of 165.0mm and be 77.2mm wide. The 15 Pro Max, which is likely to sport a 6.7-inch display, will be 159.8mm tall and 76.7mm wide.

A separate leak by tipster Digital Chat Station (via) revealed that the 16 Pro Max/ 16 Ultra will feature a new Sony IMX903 1/1.14-inch primary camera sensor. The same was corroborated by tipster ShrimpApplePro.

There are rumours of the 16 Pro models featuring a new periscope camera sensor on the back, which will be exclusive to the 15 Pro Max later this year. The new periscope lens is likely to offer up to 6x optical zoom in the top-end iPhone, whereas the 15 Pro will continue to offer up to 3x optical zoom.

These are some of the early details about the 2024 iPhones. Since we are more than a year away from the rumoured timeline of the launch, it is likely that some of the leaked details might change over the course of the product’s development.
