However, that was a 4G phone. Now that 5G is official in India, the company could be planning to launch a 5G-enabled phone in the country. The Jio Phone 5G could be launching soon. Jio Phone 5G Expected Launch Date

Jio Phone 5G may launch next year. Unfortunately, there’s no clarity on it. But going by the announcement during AGM in 2022, Reliance is developing the phone with Google and has stressed that it would be an affordable 5G offering for the Indian market. Now that Jio True 5G services have started rollout in beta trial for four cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi. We can expect it gradually roll out to more cities in the coming months.

The Jio Phone specifications have not been officially revealed by the company however thanks to a major leak which reveals the company’s internal hardware, we now know about most of the specs of the device.  Here’re the full features and specifications of the Jio Phone 5G.

Snapdragon 480 Processor 

The Jio Phone 5G is most likely to get powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset under the hood. It is an entry-level 5G processor. The chip is likely to be paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Jio Phone 5G, like the Jio Phone Next, will come preloaded with a modified version of Android 12. 

5000mAh Battery

The Jio Phone 5G will pack a large 5,000mAh battery unit inside. The device will further support 18W fast charging which is most likely to happen via a Type-C port. Just like the JioPhone Next, we can expect the company to pack the charging adapter and a Type-C cable out of the box. 

90Hz Display

The Jio Phone 5G is most likely to feature a 6.5-inch display. It will be an IPS LCD display with a HD+ resolution. The device may feature a 90Hz refresh rate support to make the scrolling experience smoother.

The Jio Phone 5G is said to feature a dual rear camera setup on the back with a 13MP main camera and a 2MP secondary lens. On the front, the device might feature an 8MP shooter. Other features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.1, and Syntiant NDP115 always-on AI processor.
