Meta has finally released its AI assistant named ‘Meta AI,’ which will be free for Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger users. The AI chatbot is powered by Llama 3, the most advanced AI model developed by the company. It directly rivals OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. Here are the details.

Meta AI Assistant Powered By Llama 3: What Can It Do?

Meta AI is a true virtual assistant that can answer all your queries. It can solve doubts, curate itineraries, suggest places to visit, and even write code. The chatbot is also capable of generating images, and even animating them. Meta AI’s integration in Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Messenger gives it a massive edge over its competitors.

Meta AI is available as a separate chat in WhatsApp where users can ask any question. These conversations remain private and are not visible to other WhatsApp contacts. Users can also use Meta AI on Instagram while chatting with their friends in DMs. The bot can be accessed by tagging @MetaAI in the conversation, which provides full access to AI features. There are no app-based restrictions on the usage of Meta AI.

It is also available on Facebook, where users can ask for additional information about any post directly to Meta AI. For example, if a user comes across any informative post on their Facebook feed, they can ask Meta AI to explain the post in detail.

In addition to this, Meta AI can also be accessed on the desktop through the official domain meta.ai. However, users are required to sign in using their Facebook account. Currently, Meta AI only supports English. The AI chatbot is now available in the United States, Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The company says that support for more countries will be added soon.

Although India is not mentioned in the official list, Meta AI is available to a small set of WhatsApp beta users. We can expect it to arrive in India for all users soon.
