Samsung is slated to debut the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S24 series smartphone on January 17 at an Unpacked Galaxy event, according to various leaks and reports, though the company is yet to announce a launch date. The Unpacked Galaxy event is likely to be hosted in San Jose, California once it gets confirmed. The live images of the Galaxy S24 Ultrasmartphone compared with its predecessor were leaked recently.
The images confirmed that Samsung isn’t departing from the existing design language for the upcoming flagship smartphones. Hankyung, a Korean publication, has revealed (via) the starting prices of the forthcoming Galaxy S24 series smartphones for the US markets. The prices leaked by the Korean publication indicate Samsung is unlikely to depart from the existing prices.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Pricing Leaked
The report shared by the publication divulges that Samsung will launch the vanilla Galaxy S24 smartphone at USD 899 (approx. Rs 66,600) for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The South Korean giant will also debut the vanilla Galaxy S24 smartphone in another variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
The base variant of Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra will sport 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and is expected to retail for USD 999 (approx. Rs 83,250) and USD 1,199 (approx. Rs 99,900).
The Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones will also debut in 12GB RAM and 256GB / 512GB storage variants.
The report adds that Samsung is likely to increase the prices for the higher variants, which means those that sport more storage and RAM. The intention to launch the base variants at the same prices helps the brand boost sales. Samsung is aiming to increase sales by at least 10% from the booming market. The South Korean giant is planning to sell over 30 million Galaxy S24 series smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Series to Get Satellite Connectivity
In other news, a leaked screenshot confirms that Samsung will debut the upcoming smartphones with satellite connectivity. The feature will allow its users to send text messages if they’re in an area without network coverage.
Satellite connectivity is already a part of Apple’s iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro series, so Samsung will be playing catch up with its rival. However, Apple has limited satellite connectivity to some countries and given India’s tight rules around satellite usage, the service is not available in the country. And this could be the same for Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series as well, even if it does get the feature internationally.
