Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Price in India, Features, Specifications Compared

The mid-range smartphone market in India was recently graced with a plethora of new options across numerous brands. On the one hand, we have Samsung’s refreshed A series phones, with the Galaxy A50 leading the charge. OPPO has its F11 Pro, a phone which brings a pop-up selfie camera at a relatively affordable price. Vivo did something similar with its V15. With such a varied offerings, which phone should one pick? Today, we pit these three smartphones against each other to see which offers the best value.

Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Price in India

The most affordable out of these three phones is the Samsung Galaxy A50 which costs INR 19,990 for its 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model. An upgrade to 6GB of RAM will set you back by INR 22,990. Next, we have the Vivo V15 which comes only in a 6GB RAM + 64GB storage setup that is priced at INR 23,990. The OPPO F11 Pro, on the other hand, offers the same storage setup but is priced at INR 24,990. All three phones offer microSD card expansion.

Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Design, Build

All three phones in this comparison come glossy plastic constructions. The front of the Galaxy A50 gets Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and the V15 gets Gorilla Glass 5. The F11 Pro misses out on any sort of protection. With that said, both OPPO’s and Vivo’s phones offer unobstructed viewing experiences thanks to the use of pop-up selfie cameras. While Samsung’s handset makes do with an Infinity-U display, the brand managed to embed an in-display fingerprint scanner on the A50.

Then again, the A50’s in-screen fingerprint sensor is known to be incredibly slow and unreliable. As far as security is concerned, the other two phones are better options as their rear-mounted sensors are significantly quicker and more accurate.

Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Display

The Galaxy A50 offers the best display in this showdown. The phone comes with a 6.4-inch, Full HD+ resolution AMOLED panel. The other two phones offer 6.5-inch LCD screens each. The Vivo V15’s and OPPO F11 Pro’s screen are not bad by any means, but they are just not as good as the results seen on Samsung’s OLED tech.

Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Camera

In the imaging scene, the Galaxy A50 and V15 come very close as they offer comparable shooter setups. The Galaxy A50 features a 25MP + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (depth) rear camera setup, accompanied by a 25MP selfie shooter. Meanwhile, the Vivo V15 offers a 24MP + 8MP (ultra-wide) + 5MP (depth) triple rear camera setup, paired with a 32MP front-facing shooter. Other than the slight difference in sensor resolution, the Vivo V15 gets one additional functionality over its rivals, which is its support for 4K 30fps video recording with its rear cameras.

Lastly, we have the OPPO F11 pro which offers a 48MP +5MP dual rear camera setup, paired with a 16MP selfie shooter. On its own, this imaging setup should also produce satisfactory images, but it is just not as versatile as the other two phones in this comparison.

Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Performance

In the performance showdown, it so happens that all three phones are powered by chipsets with comparable technical specifications. Both the V15 and F11 Pro are powered by MediaTek Helio P70 SoCs, with the Galaxy A50 being powered by an Exynos 9610 SoC. Both chipsets come with quad-core CPUs with 4x Cortex-A73 and 4x Cortex-A53 cores, along with Mali-G72 MP3 GPUs.

However, benchmarks show the Exynos 9160 to be more powerful, and real-world gaming performance backs this up. Then again, Samsung’s One UI – despite being a better Android skin – is just too heavy for this chipset and tends to bog down general usability. The other two phones might not perform as well in games, but their UI and navigation are faster and smoother. If we had to pick between them, then OPPO’s ColorOS 6 is a better skin compared to Vivo’s Funtouch 9.

Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Battery Life

Overall battery life of these three phones happens to be quite similar. All three phones come with 4000mAh batteries with their own fast charging implementations. However, there is one aspect where Samsung’s phone takes the upper hand, and that is with its USB Type-C port. Despite being priced higher, the other two phones still make use of the old microUSB standard.

Vivo V15 vs OPPO F11 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A50: Verdict

Picking a single winner between these three phones is difficult as each has its strengths and weaknesses. The Galaxy A50 is more powerful when it comes to games, its cameras are great, it charges over USB Type-C, its display is superior, and it is the most affordable here. However, its in-display fingerprint scanner does not perform well, and its UI and navigation present issues.

While the other two phones offer comparable performance capabilities, the camera on the V15 is the best. With that said, you will find a better software experience on the F11 Pro.
