Vivo recently announced the Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro smartphones for the global markets. The Chinese smartphone giant has also started teasing the launch of the device in India. The company debuted the smartphones in November 2023 in China. Vivo previously confirmed that it will debut the Vivo X100 Pro+ smartphone later in China. A recent leak from Digital Chat Station revealed that the launch of the smartphone has been delayed.
The leak indicated that Vivo might debut the smartphone somewhere in H1 of 2024 in China. Vivo is also rumoured to debut the X100S and X100S Pro smartphones, which sport flat AMOLED displays. The Chinese smartphone will also launch the Vivo Pad 3 tablet with the same flagship MediaTek SoC alongside the X100 Pro+ smartphone. DCS has revealed the display and camera specifications of the forthcoming device.
Vivo X100 Pro+ Expected Specifications
Digital Chat Station reveals through a new post on X (formerly Twitter) that Vivo will equip the upcoming X100 Pro+ smartphone with Samsung E7 AMOLED panel. The E7 AMOLED panel is likely to sport 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Vivo is expected to continue equipping the forthcoming smartphone with LTPO technology, with refresh rates varying from 1-120Hz.
In contrast, Vivo sourced the BOE display for the vanilla X100 and X100 Pro smartphones. The X100 and X100 Pro smartphones sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution. Vivo equipped the device with LTPO technology and a 120Hz refresh rate. The tipster reveals in another post that the upcoming X100 Pro+ will sport a 50MP Sony LYT 900 primary sensor with a 1-inch sensor size.
OPPO recently confirmed that it will equip the Find X7 series smartphones with the same Sony LYT 900 sensor. The upcoming Sony LYT 900 sensor is an improved version of the Sony IMX 966 sensor with stacked CMOS technology. Xiaomi is also rumoured to equip the forthcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra smartphone with the same sensor.
There are reports which suggest that Vivo will equip the upcoming device with satellite communication technology. The upcoming X100 Pro+ smartphone is also rumoured to sport Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, built on TSMC’s 4nm process. The chipset will pair with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
A previous leak reveals that Vivo will continue to equip the device with a similar-sized 6.78-inch display. The quad rear camera of the X100 Pro+ smartphone will also sport a 50MP Sony IMX 789 ultrawide sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The sensors will be paired with a 50MP Sony IMX 589 telephoto sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor.
The centred punch hole in the display will house the 32MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone will run on Origin OS 4 based on Android 14 out of the box. The upcoming X100 Pro+ smartphone will be backed by a 5400mAh battery with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. There are reports which suggest that Vivo might debut the device under the Vivo X100 Ultra moniker.
