
Motorola, earlier today, launched its new top-end smartphone the Motorola Edge Plus, in India. The Edge Plus is the company’s first flagship-grade smartphone to come to India in a long time and boasts of high-end specifications and features. The launch of the Edge Plus comes days after Motorola announced that they would launch the Edge+ in the country on May 19. Interestingly, the launch date coincides with the beginning of the fourth phase of the pan-India lockdown with relaxed norms wherein e-commerce deliveries will be possible even in Red Zones. Motorola’s retail partner Flipkart, therefore, will be able to fulfill orders from across the country.
Motorola Edge+ Price in India, Launch Offers
The Motorola Edge+ comes in a single 12GB RAM +256GB storage option in India that has been priced at INR 74,999.
The Motorola Edge+ will be sold via Flipkart as well as Motorola’s offline partners starting May 26, 2020. You can pre-order the device starting today. In India, the device will be available in two color schemes – Thunder Grey and Smoky Sangria.
Buyers can avail of a flat INR 7,500 Instant discount (online) or cashback (offline retail) on purchases made with ICICI Bank Credit Cards. The scheme will be valid for EMI as well as non-EMI transactions, the company confirmed in a press release.
Motorola Edge+ Specifications, Features
It is no surprise that the Motorola Edge+ features a large 6.7-inch OLED display with curved edges. Motorola calls this the ‘Endless Edge’ display, and it boasts of FHD+ (2340 x 1080) resolution and supports the DCI-P3 color space. This panel, apart from being HDR10+ rated, also supports 90Hz refresh rate. The use of OLED technology also means the device can integrate an in-display fingerprint scanner. At the top of the display is a single dot ‘notch‘ to house the front-facing camera.
The Motorola Edge+ features a triple camera setup at the rear with the primary camera using a 108MP sensor from Samsung with an f/1.8 lens and support for OIS. The phone also gets a secondary 16MP ultra-wide-angle/macro camera with an f/2.2 lens. The third camera uses an 8MP sensor and is mated to a telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom and supports OIS as well. The lens on this camera has an aperture of f/2.4. At the front, the Motorola Edge Plus gets by with a 25MP selfie snapper.
The Motorola Edge Plus comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and comes in a single 12GB + 256GB variant. The RAM is of the LPDDR5 type, while the flash storage supports UFS3.0 data transfer speeds. Like other Motorola devices, the Motorola Ede+ runs the newest version of Android at launch (Android 10 as of now). The company also promises two Android OS upgrades for the future.
Other key features of the Motorola Edge Plus includes the massive 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W of wired and 15W wireless charging.
At its price of INR 74,999, the Motorola Edge+ competes with top tier flagship-grade devices, including the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series as well as the iPhone 11.
