Vivo V29 Series shines in the October edition of MSP Tech Insights. More details here.

The month of October, similar to September, can also be referred to as TECHTOBER for it witnessed a lot of smartphone launches in its month. OnePlus launched its first foldable phone, the OnePlus Open, whereas Google unveiled its latest flagship smartphones, Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The past month also witnessed the launch of OPPO’s clamshell foldable phone, the Find N3 Flip, in India.

Even though flagship launches were on a roll in October, budget and mid-ranges smartphones left a huge impression in the users’ mind, according to the latest edition of MSP Tech Insights.

The data has been collected from over 15 million shoppers that visited our platform last month to make their gadget purchase decisions. So without further ado, let’s check out MySmartPrice Tech Insights report for October 2023.

Most Popular Mobile Phones in October 2023

1. Vivo V29

Vivo’s V-series has always been a hot choice in the offline market. It looks that the company’s latest model, Vivo V29, has continued that legacy. The phone has replaced last month’s topper, the iPhone 15 from its position to gain the numero uno position. At Rs 32,999, the phone features a 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 778G SoC, and a 50MP selfie camera among others.

2. Motorola Edge 40 Neo

Motorola has taken the budget segment by storm, all thanks to its Motorola Edge 40 Neo. It is the only device to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7030 SoC in India. Its priced attractively at Rs 20,999 and features 144Hz curved pOLED screen, IP68 dust and water resistance rating, a 50MP main camera, 32MP selfie snapper, fast charging, and more.

3. Vivo T2 Pro

The Vivo T2 Pro was launched in August as a mid-range device with a Curved AMOLED display. For under Rs 25,000, it boasts a 120Hz refresh rate display, MediaTek’s octa-core Dimensity 7200 chipset, a 16MP selfie camera, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

4. Redmi 12 5G

Redmi 12 5G, Xiaomi’s most affordable 5G device, has moved two positions up compared to the month of September. Its rise might be because the demand for an affordable 5G phone is growing, and the festive sales on e-com stores would have also contributed to that. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor and costs Rs 11,499 in India.

5. Vivo V29 Pro

Not just the vanilla V29, but its elder sibling, the Vivo V29 Pro is also on the list of most popular smartphones in the October edition of MSP Tech Insights. The premium phone from Vivo is popular because of its camera prowess and display. While it shares most of its specs, it uses an additional 12MP portrait sensor.

6. OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite

Although the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G is declining in popularity each month, we should not ignore the fact that it launched in April and since then, it has been among the most popular phones in each edition. That just shows how people have started trusting OnePlus in the budget segment ever since the introduction of the Nord series.

7. iPhone 15

Within a month of its launch, the iPhone 15 has lost its popularity massively – dropping from the top spot to the 7th place. Talking about the device, the iPhone 15 gets Dynamic Island display, A16 Bionic processor, USB-C port with fast charging, and much more. It starts from Rs 79,900, and one important differentiation is that it is Made in India too.

8. Motorola Edge 40

The Motorola Edge 40 is similar to the Edge 40 Neo in almost every aspect. However, the former brings forth wireless charging and the powerful Dimensity 8020 chipset. It is priced at Rs 29,999 in India for the 8GB+256GB configuration. The other features of the Edge 40 include 144Hz 3D curved OLED display, vegan leather finish, and 32MP selfie camera.

9. Vivo V29e

The Vivo V29e was the first V29 series device from Vivo that launched in India. It is the third V29 series device to place itself in the latest MSP Tech Insights edition. Priced at Rs 26,999, the V29e features an Artistic design, a 120Hz refresh rate screen with a full HD+ resolution, the Snapdragon 695 SoC, and much more.

10. Google Pixel 8 Pro

Google launched its latest iteration of the flagships, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, in October. The Pixel 8 Pro is the premium among the duo, and is all about camera and AI capabilities. It is the first time that a Google Pixel phone has been launched at a price above Rs 1 lakh.

Top Upcoming Smartphones in India (October 2023)

1. Redmi Note 13 Pro

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 13 series in China in September and the same is expected to launch soon globally. The devices included in the series have been spotted in various certification listings hinting at the imminent global launch. The Redmi Note 13 Pro is one of the most anticipated devices in India. It is the first device in the world to pack a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset. It also houses a 200MP rear camera sensor.

2. OnePlus Ace 2 Pro

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is one of the most popular upcoming devices that the Indian audience wants to see in the market. However, after its debut in China two months ago, there is no update on its India launch. Not to mention that the Ace series from OnePlus has not launched in the country yet.  This is the first device to feature 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage along with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 150W charging and more.

3. Honor 90 Pro

Honor made its comeback in India in September with the help of HTech, backed by former Realme Vice President, Madhav Sheth. It launched the Honor 90 in India at a starting price of Rs 37,999. After the comeback, it seems that Indian consumers want to see more from Honor’s stables in the subcontinent. That said, it remains to be seen if the next launch from Honor is a flagship offering or budget / mid-range device.

There’s no denying that October has been action packed in terms of launches. However, with the launch of the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Mediatek Dimensity 9300 chipsets, the race for being the most powerful flagship will start from November. So it would be interesting how consumers respond to these top-of-the-line devices, which we will surely be shedding the light upon in the next edition of MSP Tech Insights. Keep your eyes peeled for that.
