Apple is gearing up to expand its Mac line of products later this year. The company is rumoured to launch new MacBook Air and Pro models with a faster performance unit. The company recently debuted the 2021 iMac with the M1 chip, which was first introduced on the 2020 MacBookAir and Pro models. It is not only upgrading the SoC but also other internals. A new Bloomberg report claims that the redesigned MacBook Pro models will debut in Summer. The company will also launch a new MacBook Air, a “low-end” MacBook Pro and a Mac Pro. Apple MacBook Pro, MacBook Air with upgraded performance unit tipped to launch later this year

Apple is gearing up to launch multiple new products under the MacBook lineup. The upgraded MacBook Pro will launch in summer 2021.

Bloomberg’s report claims that the new MacBook Pro will launch with an upgraded performance unit. The company will launch two Pro models. The 14-inch variant has the codename J314, whereas the 16-inch model has the codename J316. The models will feature a redesigned chassis and magnetic charging. The two variants will also come with multiple ports, including the HDMI port and SD card slot.

Apple will also launch two separate chips for the new Pro models. These are codenamed Jade C-Chop and Jade C-Die. Both chips will feature eight high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores. The difference will lie in the GPU. The report claims that either model will come with 16 or 32 GPU cores. The M1 chip, in comparison, came with four performance and four efficiency cores. It also has eight graphics cores. The new chip will also come with support for up to 64GB of RAM as opposed to 16GB on the current M1 chip.

The company will also launch a new MacBook Air with an upgraded chip codenamed Stalen. This chip will have the same number of computing cores as the M1 but run faster. Design renders of the upcoming Air model had leaked recently. It will come in new colours similar to the 24-inch iMac M1. A new Mac mini with the codename J374 is also on the cards. It will have the same chip as the upcoming MacBook Pro and come with four ports.

The Mac Pro is getting an upgrade next year. The 2022 Mac Pro will launch It will get two different processors that are either twice or four times as powerful as the new high-end MacBook Pro chip. These two chips are codenamed Jade 2C-Die and Jade 4C-Die. It will come with up to 20 or 40 computing core variations. The chips would also include either 64 core or 128 core options for graphics.
