Nokia fans, the wait is finally over. HMD Global is finally bringing the first Nokia 5G smartphone to India. Nokia XR20, one of the toughest smartphones from the brand with 5G connectivity, will arrive soon on the shelves. The Nokia XR20 is a rugged 5G smartphone that can be used under various rough environments. Nokia XR20 comes with the promise of four years of updates, and the phone, which is MIL-STD810H-certified, can withstand drops from up to 1.8 meters. The phone also comes with Gorilla Glass Victus on the front, alongside IP68 dust and water resistance. Nokia has just announced on Twitter that pre-booking for the device will start from October 20.

Nokia XR20 Specifications

In terms of specifications and hardware, the Nokia XR20 sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a peak brightness of 550 nits. There is a punch-hole camera on the front. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 SoC, coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage.

The phone sports a dual-camera setup on the back consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera coupled with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens. There is a dual-LED flash on the back, and on the front, there is an 8-megapixel punch-hole camera for video calls and selfies. The rugged phone is IP68 rated against dust and water, and the MIL-STD810H certification means that the phone can withstand drops easily.

The phone packs a 4630mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and it runs Android 11 out of the box with no custom skin. The phone supports 15W wireless charging as well. Connectivity options on the phone include dual-SIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microSD card slot, a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer and lastly, a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Nokia XR20 Price

The phone has been launched already in Europe, way back in July. There, the phone is priced at €499 and is on sale since July. If we translate that pricing directly to Indian Rupee, the pricing is around Rs 43500. However, we’re not sure how that kind of pricing will help Nokia sell this phone as the craze for rugged phones is still kind of very limited in India. However, we expect it to be priced at around Rs 40000.
