Nothing Phone (2) Appears on BIS Certification; Could Debut Soon

Nothing made its debut in the smartphone segment with the Nothing Phone (1) in 2022. The company has already confirmed the existence of the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) and also shared that it will launch in late 2023. Now, the upcoming smartphone with the model number AIN065 from the brand has made an appearance on the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) certification.

Last month, MySmartPrice had exclusively revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will have model number A065. The smartphone that made an appearance on the BIS could be India specific variant of the device since it contains IN. Let us take a closer look at the details.


Nothing Phone (2) with the model number AIN065 made an appearance on the BIS certification website. Tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the upcoming Nothing smartphone has only cleared stage 1 of the BIS certification and the stage 2 approval is yet to be granted. A product has to clear both stages of certification before it can be launched in India. We can expect the Nothing Phone (2) sometime in H2, 2023.

Nothing has already revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will be more premium compared to its predecessor – Phone (1). The company has also already announced that the upcoming Phone (2) will be powered by a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 series processor.

Nothing didn’t specify if it is going to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 on the Nothing Phone (2). However, leaks and speculations are rife that the company will use the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for its upcoming smartphone.

To recall, the Nothing Phone (1) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor. The smartphone offers a 6.55-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1200nits peak brightness, and Full HD+ resolution. The smartphone features a corner punch hole notch and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It boots Android 13 based Nothing OS 1.5 as of now. The company promised three years of Android version upgrades for the device.

The Nothing Phone (1) sports a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor on the rear which features OIS support. It gets accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 16MP selfie camera. The smartphone packs a 4500mAh battery unit. It supports 33W fast charging over a Type-C port. It also supports Qi wireless charging (at 15W) and the reverse wireless charging (at 5W).

In related news, Nothing recently launched the successor of its first TWS – the Nothing Ear (2). The Nothing Ear (2) is the company’s first second-generation product.
