OnePlus 12: What’s New?
The OnePlus 12 features a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED screen, which the company calls ProXDR. It has a QHD+ resolution of 3168×1440 pixels with a refresh rate of 120Hz. This panel is rated for peak brightness levels of 4500 nits and is certified with Dolby Vision. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. OnePlus has also equipped a first-gen Display P1 chip which optimizes the picture quality of the panel.
OnePlus 12 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The device comes with a Dual Cryo-velocity cooling system that features two vapour chambers. It helps the device to lower the temperatures by up to 7 degrees Celsius. The overall configuration makes the OnePlus 12 over 30% faster than its predecessor.
OnePlus has continued its partnership with Hasselblad for the cameras on its latest flagship. The triple rear camera setup on the OnePlus 12 features a 50MP primary camera with OIS, powered by the Sony LYT-808 sensor. The secondary camera is an upgraded 64MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS, backed by the OmniVision OV64B sensor. The third camera is a 48MP ultrawide lens with the Sony IMX581 sensor. The selfie camera is a 32MP shooter.
The OnePlus 12 runs on a 5400mAh battery, which supports 100W SuperVOOC wired charging. It can charge the phone from 0-100% in just 26 minutes. The device also has 50W wireless charging, which the company calls AirVOOC.
OnePlus 12R: The New Flagship Killer
The OnePlus 12R continues the ten-year-old legacy of the company of flagship killers. It comes with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels. It uses the same ProXDR technology as its elder sibling. The display has a refresh rate of 120Hz and is rated for Dolby Vision.
The OnePlus 12R is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The company has not cut any corners in cooling as the device comes with a similar Cryo-velocity cooling system. The cooling system on the OnePlus 12R is 76% larger than the vapour chambers on the OnePlus 11R.
The triple rear camera setup on the OnePlus 12R features a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. However, these cameras miss out on the Hasselblad partnership. The selfie camera is a 16MP sensor.
The OnePlus 12R gets a slightly larger 5500mAh battery. It supports the same 100W SuperVOOC charging, but misses out on wireless charging. Another highlight of the device is that OnePlus is offering 4 years of software updates with its latest flagship killer.
