In a recent development, OnePlus even revealed that the OnePlus 9 series will feature a Sony IMX766 ultrawide sensor, and it will even come with an in-box fast charger. Now, with few days remaining for the official launch, OnePlus has confirmed some essential traits for the OnePlus 9 series. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has revealed through an official Weibo post today morning that the upcoming OnePlus 9 series will get two years of warranty in China. OnePlus even has confirmed through an official forum post that it will be offering a two-year warranty period for the OnePlus 9 series. Additionally, Pete Lau even has mentioned in his Weibo post that “Seeing the survey data, the replacement cycle of the flagship is about 2 years, So this is equivalent to buying our new product, and almost the entire life cycle of use can enjoy the official warranty”. With this confirmation OnePlus now seems to be the only brand offering a longer warranty period on its upcoming OnePlus 9 series. Earlier, Xiaomi had announced such longer warranty period of 18 months for its Redmi Note 7. This was made possible because their Field Failure Rate had improved, which saw a drop of more than 30% compared to the previous generation.


OnePlus is Abandoning The Use of HydrogenOS In China?

Moving onto the other OnePlus details, it is being revealed that OnePlus has started selling its devices through the official OPPO shop website in China (via: ShreyasOchani). Additionally, rumors are rife that OnePlus will abandon the use of HydrogenOS for its devices in China, and is considering to make use of OPPO’s ColorOS for its handsets in the Chinese market. On the software front, the OnePlus 9 series might run Android 11 out of the box with OxygenOS 11 UI. Moving onto the OnePlus 9 Pro specs, it might sport a 6.7-inch QHD+ LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is said to offer the same hardware configuration as that of the base OnePlus 9 model. It is confirmed to feature a 50MP quad-camera setup on the back. The device will include a Sony IMX766 sensor, while the other three sensors the device could incorporate could be of 48MP, 8MP, and 2MP.
