OnePlus mentions that the OnePlus Ace 3 aka OnePlus 12R will have side bezels of just 1.36mm. The bottom chin will also be narrow with a thickness of 1.94mm. The device will feature a hole-punch display to house the front camera, ensuring a notch-less design.
Another teaser released by the company confirms that the OnePlus 12R will get a 1.5K resolution screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
OnePlus also says that the OnePlus 12 and the OnePlus 12R will feature Oriental Screens, which is an LTPO-based OLED technology co-developed by OnePlus and BOE– which is a China-based display manufacturer. Furthermore, the company has also confirmed that the OnePlus 12R display will have support for Dolby Vision.
The OnePlus 12R is set to launch in China as the OnePlus Ace 3 on January 4, 2023. The device is expected to be priced lower than the OnePlus 12. To recall, the base variant of the OnePlus 12 retails for CNY 4299 (approx Rs 50,600) in China.
The OnePlus Ace 3 was recently spotted on the China Telecom website, which revealed the pricing and the specifications of the device. As per the listing, the OnePlus Ace 3 pricing could start at CNY 3299 (approx 39,500) for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
It also confirms that the OnePlus Ace 3 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and will offer a 16GB RAM variant. The device will be powered by a 5500mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. However, the OnePlus Ace 3 will miss out on wireless charging.
When the OnePlus Ace 3 goes global as the OnePlus 12R, it will be an interesting flagship to consider in global markets with its lower price tag. Although the device will feature a chipset from last year, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is still a powerful processor even for heavy tasks like gaming.
We can expect the OnePlus 12R pricing in India to start at around Rs 45,000 for the base model.
