OnePlus Nord 2 Now Receiving OxygenOS 12 Based on Android 12: What’s New

The OnePlus Nord 2 update is rolling out to Indian users now.

OnePlus Nord 2 users in India are now receiving OxygenOS 12 stable update based on Android 12. A little over a month back in April, the Nord 2 received its first open beta update and a couple of beta updates later, the company has started rolling out the stable version of Android 12 update to Nord 2 users.

The OnePlus Nord 2 was launched in India in July last year with Android 11 out of the box and this is the phone’s first major update for the device is also likely to receive the Android 13 update next year. The Android 12 update for OnePlus Nord 2 is now rolling out for users in India and North America and European users will be getting the update soon in the coming days.

OnePlus Nord 2 OxygenOS 12 Based on Android 12 Changelog

The updated version for Nord 2 Android 12 update is DN2101_11.C.04 and according to the forum, the update is available for vanilla OnePlus Nord 2 as well as Nord 2 Pac-Man Edition. However, some features of the Pac-Man edition in alarm and weather will be unavailable in this first release, and OnePlus has promised that the issue will be fixed in the next update.     • [Fixed] the issue that the lock screen interface displayed abnormally when charging
    • [Fixed] the issue that the screen brightness displayed abnormally in certain scenarios
    • [Fixed] the occasional issue that the desktop text displayed abnormally in certain scenarios
  • Camera
    • [Optimized] the anti-shake effect when shooting videos
    • [Optimized] the speed of enabling Camera in certain scenarios
  • Others
    • [Fixed] the issue of abnormal crash when enabling Fortnite

This changelog seems to be an updated version of the first open beta update, which you can refer to here. Here are some of the major updates that you’ll notice with Android 12 on Nord 2:

  • Newly added Smart Battery Engine, a feature that prolongs battery life based on smart algorithms and biomimetic self-restoration technology
  • Optimized desktop icons with improved textures, by using a design inspired by brand-new materials and uniting lights and layers
  • Dark mode now supports three adjustable levels, bringing a more personalized and comfortable user experience
  • Work-Life Balance 2.0 now supports automatic Work/Life mode switching, based on specific locations, Wi-Fi network, and time, also bringing customized App notification profiles according to the personalization

In the past few of months, the company has pushed the Open Beta updates for the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8T and 9R smartphones.
