The Oppo A16 smartphone is headed to India soon. While the company may not have announced the official launch date of the smartphone yet, a listing of the Oppo A16 appeared on Amazon India earlier, putting an official launch date on the cards. The device is set to launch in India on September 20th and the listing also reveals some of the features of the smartphone. While we’re yet to learn the price of the product, the specs would suggest that the product should be placed in the budget segment in India.
Oppo A16 specs and features
The Oppo A16 will have a 6.52 inch display with a water drop notch, and a 5000 mAh battery. Amazon’s teaser also showed that the phone would have three artificial intelligence (AI) powered cameras on the back and will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. While it goes on sale on September 20, it should start shipping from October this year.
We don’t really need Amazon’s listing to learn the Oppo A16’s specifications though. The device has been launched in Indonesia and its specs have been revealed too. The 6.52 inch display has a 720 x 1600 pixel HD+ display with 20:9 aspect ratio and 60Hz refresh rate. It runs on the MediaTek Helio G35 chipset and has 3GB of LPDDR4x RAM, with 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage. The 5000 mAh battery also supports 10W charging and the device runs on Oppo’s ColorOS 11.1, which is based on Android 11.
Further, along with the three cameras on the back, the Oppo A16 also has an 8 megapixel front facing camera. The three cameras on the back have a 13 megapixel sensor for the primary shooter and 2 megapixel sensors for the depth sensor and the macro sensor. The phone also supports dual 4G VoLTE connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and has both a USB Type-C port and a microSD card slot. There’s also a 3.5mm jack on the device.
Oppo A16 price in India
As mentioned before, the price of the Oppo A16 hasn’t been revealed yet, but the device is priced at IDR 1,999,000 in Indonesia, which equates to approximately Rs. 10,500 in India. Since it’s an Oppo device, it should be sold on both online and offline channels. It’s available in Pearl Blue, Space Silver and Crystal Black colours in Indonesia.
