OPPO has launched a new A-series phone in China. The new OPPO smartphone comes with 5G network support and is a budget offering. The company has unveiled the OPPO A1x 5G in its home country. It features a MediaTek Dimensity SoC under the hood. The phone also packs a beefy battery as well. Like many OPPO phones launched this year, the A1x 5G has a flat frame design. The rear panel too is flat and has two huge circular cutouts for the camera setup.
There is no word on whether the A1x 5G will launch in India. Meanwhile, here’s a quick look at the OPPO A1x 5G’s price, specifications and other details.
OPPO A1x 5G Price and Specifications
The OPPO A1x 5G has been launched as a new budget 5G smartphone. The 5G smartphone arrives in two storage configurations in China. The base model packs 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It is priced at CNY 1399 (roughly Rs 16,700). There is also an 8GB RAM variant of the A1x 5G, which comes with 128GB of storage. This variant is priced at CNY 1599 (roughly Rs 19,100). The phone has been launched in two colour options — Quite Sea Blue and Starry Sky Black.
In terms of hardware, the A1x 5G has a 6.56-inch IPS LCD. The screen offers an HD+ resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels. The side and top bezels are fairly narrow but the chin is slightly thick. There is also a water-drop notch at the top centre of the phone for the front camera. The A1x 5G has a screen-to-body ratio of 89.8 per cent. It is claimed to offer 600 nits of peak brightness under direct sunlight.
The device comes with a 90Hz display as well and offers 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut support.
On the back, there are two circular cutouts for the dual-camera setup and an LED flash. The phone has a 13MP main camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP portrait camera with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
The phone has a 5000mAh battery under the hood. It also packs a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, which is an entry-level 5G processor and has been used in multiple smartphones launching in 2022. There is support for Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, etc. The A1x 5G has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and support for AI face unlock.
The phone runs Android 12 out of the box, which is kind of a bummer. It has a layer of ColorOS 12 on top. Lastly, the A1x 5G weighs about 186 grams and measures 163.8mm X 75.1mm X 7.99mm.
