WhatsApp constantly keeps working on new features on its app and website. But before these new and useful features reach the masses, they are tested in the beta version, giving some of us an idea of what to expect. One such feature in the beta version has been spotted this time by the WABetainfo website that tracks all the developments on WhatsApp across platforms. As reported by the website, WhatsApp is currently embracing the idea of ‘Rich Link’ previews for text status updates and will bring it in the future. This comes shortly after the firm made some minor changes to the interface when creating text for status updates on WhatsApp Beta for Android.

What Will Rich Link Preview Change in Whatsapp?
WABetainfo has shared a screenshot, explaining what will change after WhatsApp brings rich link previews. It shows that while updating the current status text with a website link, it just shows a simple text. However, with a rich link preview, it will show the preview of the website inside a box, showing some more details. It adds that WhatsApp plans to make rich link previews better in future updates.
Currently, this feature is under development and will be coming to beta versions of Android and iOS at some point. It may also be coming to the desktop version later. It is worth adding that Android users can already see link previews in the WhatsApp status bar for quite some time. However, this will make it better.

Rich Link Previews Add to Some Noteworthy Changes
WhatsApp’s Rich Link Preview for status updates will surely be helpful for several users. This will add to the existing bunch of updates that have helped users in several ways. A few days ago, WhatsApp rolled out Message Reactions to the masses. This comes in addition to group chat improvements, sharing files of up to 2GB size and more. The firm is also spotted working on a new introduction to Disappearing Messages, which reveals a new ‘Bookmark’ feature as well. This will possibly allow users to keep disappearing messages even after their expiration.
