POCO India, last month, launched its entry-level – POCO C50 smartphone in the Indian market. The brand is now gearing up to launch yet another smartphone under the C-series – the POCO C55. POCO took it to social media channels to share the announcement. The company is marketing the upcoming POCO C55 with the tagline Speed and Swag.
POCO India didn’t reveal the launch date or features of the upcoming C-series smartphone. However, we can expect it to launch in the next couple of weeks in the country. Also, in a separate development, noted tipster Kacper Skrzypek claims that the upcoming POCO C55 will be a rebranded Redmi 12C which was launched in December in China.

Also, tipster Yogesh Brar has posted a live image of the upcoming POCO C55 which showcases the back panel and the camera layout of the device. The camera layout and the fingerprint scanner position, as you would guess, appear to be exactly same as that of the Redmi 12C.

Redmi 12C: Specifications, Features, and Price
The Redmi 12C offers a 6.71-inch LCD display with an HD+ (1650 × 720 pixel) resolution, 500nits brightness, and a waterdrop notch. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor and an integrated Mali G52 GPU. On the software side of things, it boots MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12.
The Redmi 12C offers a dual-rear camera setup that includes a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. The handset comes equipped with a 5MP front shooter that takes care of selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 5000mAh battery unit. It supports 10W charging over a micro-USB port.
The Redmi 12C retails in black, blue, green, and purple colour options. It measures 168.76 × 76.41 × 8.77mm and weighs 192 grams. The handset offers a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and has a dedicated micro-SD card slot.
The Redmi 12C retails in three configurations in China – 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 128GB. The 4GB + 64GB variant of the device costs RMB 699 (approx Rs 8,500). Whereas, the 4GB + 128GB configuration variant of the Redmi 12C costs RMB 799 (approx Rs 9,700). The Redmi 12C 6GB + 128GB variant of the device costs RMB 899 (approx Rs 11,000).
