POCO M3 Pro 5G: Design, Specifications and Features

Earlier this week, the leaked renders of the M3 Pro appeared on the web revealing the presence of a triple-rear camera setup. Around the rectangular camera module, the smartphone will have a black vertical island around the camera with POCO branding inside. The renders also confirm the presence of the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, similar to its predecessor – POCO M2 Pro. The upcoming POCO M-series smartphone will retail in at least three color variants – Black, Blue, and iconic POCO Yellow.

The company has confirmed the presence of a 5,000mAh battery unit on the upcoming POCO M3 Pro. This will be supported by an 18W fast-charging, which is a bummer considering its predecessor offered 33W fast-charging. For the charging and data transfers, the POCO M3 Pro will feature a USB Type-C port.

The upcoming POCO M-series device is confirmed to feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate with the DynamicSwitch feature. The DynamicSwitch feature will help in extending the battery life as the display can switch between 30, 50, 60, or 90Hz refresh rate automatically, depending on the content. The handset will feature a punch-hole notch to house the front selfie shooter.

The POCO M3 Pro will be the first-ever device from the brand to be powered by a Dimensity processor. The Dimensity chipset will also bring 5G-connectivity to the handset. To be precise, the SoC on the M3 Pro will be octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor that is built on a 7nm fabrication process. POCO has already confirmed that the M3 Pro will feature more RAM, and faster storage compared to the regular POCO M3.

Earlier, the POCO M3 Pro had made an appearance on the IMEI database revealing some interesting information about it. Going by the certification, it seems like a white-labeled version of the Redmi Note 10 5G. And, hence we expect it to feature a 48MP primary sensor, along with a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. The front shooter on the handset might be 8MP sensor, similar to the Redmi Note 10 5G. The smartphone should boot Android 11 based MIUI 12.5. What do you think of the POCO M3 Pro 5G?
