POCO X5 Reportedly Set to Launch In India Next Week: Expected Price, Specifications

Update: A new leak by Yogesh Brar has revealed the exact launch date of the Poco X5. As per Brar, the Poco X5 will launch in India on March 14th. The device will be priced between Rs 16,000 to Rs 18,000 in India, as per Yogesh Brar.

Just yesterday, POCO India head Himanshu Tandon acknowledged that the brand has been getting requests from fans regarding the launch of the POCO X5 for the Indian market. The company head also confirmed that the launch of the POCO X5 in India is happening soon, without revealing the exact launch timeline. While the exact launch date of the device is yet to be disclosed, folks at 91Mobiles have now revealed the launch timeline of the device.

POCO X5 Expected Price

As per the information shared by sources with 91Mobiles, the POCO X5 will launch in India next week. To recall, the device debuted globally last month. The device is expected to boot Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box, as per the report by Xiaomiui. The base variant of the POCO X5 with 6GB RAM retails for around $249 (roughly Rs 20,500), while the 8GB RAM model is priced at $299 (roughly Rs 25,000) globally. We can expect the device to launch in India for under Rs 20,000, considering that the POCO X5 Pro retails for Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000 respectively.

POCO X5 Specifications, Features

The POCO X5 features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ 1080×2400 pixels resolution. The device has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1200nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the POCO X5 is powered by Snapdragon 695 SoC. The phone packs 6GB/8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage.

Furthermore, the device also has a microSD card slot for storage expansion beyond 256GB. On the software front, the X5 runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 UI out of the box. As for the imaging purpose, the POCO X5 features a triple-camera setup. The rear-facing camera module includes a 48MP primary rear camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front side, the device features a 13MP selfie camera.

The device also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security purpose. The handset also has an IP53 rating. The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery which supports 33W fast charging. Connectivity-wise, the device has a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, GPS, dual-SIM card, 4G, 5G, and a USB Type-C port. Dimensions-wise, the phone measures 165.88×76.21×7.98mm and weighs 189 grams. The device comes in  Black, Green, and Blue colour options.
