Realme 11 5G First impressions: The unboxing experience

The Realme 11 5G comes in a familiar yellow and black box. You can find a TPU case, a SIM ejector tool, and some paperwork inside. This is followed by an 80W SuperVOOC charger (the phone supports 67W) and a USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable and the phone.

Realme 11 5G First impressions: The lowdown

Realme and its design approach have always been unique — this can also be seen on the Realme 11 5G. We’ve come across two factions: one who thinks the design is tacky, the other who is curious about how they pulled it off. The back panel is made of plastic with glitter sprinkled across the rear. The design also reacts as per the lighting angle and creates a wavy pattern resembling the letter ‘S’. The phone is available in Glory Gold and Glory Black hues.

The Realme 11 5G has a flat design, with the frames featuring a glossy finish. You know what that means — smudge heaven.

The edges are rather rough and can be annoying. The bottom frame has a USB-Type C port, a primary microphone, stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The right frame features a volume rocker and power button. The latter doubles up as a fingerprint sensor. The phone’s left side has the SIM tray, while the top has the secondary microphone.

The front of the phone sports a 6.72-inch full HD+, which refreshes at 120Hz. The bezels on all three sides are relatively thin, but the bottom chin is slightly thicker. The top portion of the display features a hole-punch camera for selfies. The display has a peak brightness of 680 nits, and using it outdoors was not an issue. To accompany this, the phone has a mono speaker setup — which is unfortunate.

Coming to the insides, the Realme 11 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+. It’s based on the 6nm fabrication process. So far, besides here, we have seen this on the Realme 11x. The phone is available in a single 8GB RAM option with two storage variants: 128GB and 256 GB.

The Realme 11 5G runs on Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13. So far, the software experience has been decent, with smooth animations and responsive UI. Rest, it feels the same, and the usual dose of bloatware can also be found here.

The circular module at the back features a 108-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel portrait camera. The front camera comes with a 16-megapixel shooter. We’ll rigorously test the camera in the coming days, so stay tuned to MySmartPrice.

The Realme 11 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery, which is similar to other phones in this segment. You get an 80W charger inside the box, but the phone only supports 67W. They probably had a lot of 80W bricks lying around.

Realme 11 5G First Impressions: Initial thoughts

The sub-Rs 20,000 price segment is brewing with options, and the Realme 11 5G is another option you can consider. While it does not do anything otherworldly, it gives the consumers more options.

As for alternatives in this segment, the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite is the closest one since the iQOO Z7 is now officially not being sold.
