Minutes ago, Chinese smartphone maker Realme announced the launch of its new budget handset the Realme 3i in the country. Priced under the psychologically important INR 10,000 mark, the Realme 3i is positioned between the existing Realme C2 and the Realme 3. As of now the prices of some of the versions of these devices see an overlap. We, however, do expect that Realme would slash the prices of the C2 and the Realme 3 to make the Realme 3i more attractive to buyers. Anyway, until now, we only had the rumored specifications of the Realme 3i. That no longer is the case. Let us now take a detailed look at the specifications and key features of the Realme 3i.
Realme 3i Specifications, key features
The Realme 3i, in spite of being an entry level device, features a premium design. The rear-panel, for example, features a diamond-cut design and will be offered in three color options initially – Diamond Blue, Diamond Red, and Diamond Black. The handset also features a large 6.22-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution. The panel also gets a small waterdrop notch at the top to house the front-facing camera.
The handset finds itself powered by the Mediatel Helio P60 SoC which is based on a 12nm manufacturing process and houses four Cortex-A53 little cores and four Cortex-A73 cores – both clocked at 2 GHz. The chip also gets the Mali-G72 GPU for graphics. The handset is offered in two versions- base 3GB+32GB version and a pricier 4GB+ 64GB version to top things out. Apart from coming with almost all key connectivity options, the phone also gets a triple slot that can take two SIM cards and one microSD card at the same time.
The camera setup on the Realme 3i consists of a dual camera setup at the rear. The primary camera uses a 13-megapixel sensor with support for Nightscape and Chroma Boost. The second camera uses a 2-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, the handset gets another 13-megapixel sensor with support for AI selfie. The Realme 3i runs the newest version of Color OS 6.0 which is based in Android 9 Pie. The handset is certain to get an update to Android 10 in the near future. For security, the phone also supports face unlock and has a fingerprint scanner as well. Topping things out we have a large 4230 mAh battery. As expected of a device in this price range, there is no support for fast charging on the Realme 3i
