Realme has finally launched the Realme 6 series of smartphones in India, which includes the Realme 6 and the Realme 6 Pro. Alongside smartphones, the company has also launched its first-ever fitness band, dubbed simply the Realme Band. In this post, however, we will focus entirely on the vanilla Realme 6 smartphone. The Realme 6 smartphone is a mid-range smartphone and it features a MediaTek Helio G90T chipset, a 64MP primary camera, and a 90Hz refresh rate display. Realme 6: Price, Launch Offers, and Availability
The Realme 6 is priced at Rs 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant, Rs 14,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant and Rs 15,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant. The first sale of the device will commence on March 11, 2020 on Flipkart and Realme.com.
Realme 6: Specifications and Features
The Realme 6 smartphone flaunts a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 2,400 x 1,080 pixel resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display is covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device comes with a 90Hz refresh rate display and a 120Hz sampling rate. There is a single punch-hole camera setup located in the top left corner of the display. The punch-hole arrangement for the selfie snapper ensures that the Realme 6 retains a decent screen-to-body ratio, 90.5% as claimed by the company.
The Realme 6 series is said to be ‘inspired by a comet that splits the dark night sky’ and comes with a new optical plating technology. The device comes in two color schemes – Comet White and Comet Blue. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner available with the Realme 6. The device measures 162.1 x 74.8 x 8.9 mm and weighs in at 191 grams. As per Realme, the Realme 6 is tightly waterproofed by sealing silicone, which effectively prevents splashing.
Coming to the cameras of the device, the Realme 6 features a quadruple rear camera setup – a 64MP Samsung GW1 wide-angle camera (f/1.8) + an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.3) + a 2MP B&W portrait lens (f/2.4) + a 2MP macro camera (f/2.4). The rear camera of the Realme 6 comes with features like Super NightScape, Panoramic view,
Expert mode, Timelapse, Portrait mode, HDR, Ultra wide mode, Ultra macro mode, AI scene recognition, AI Beauty Filter, Chroma Boost, Slow Motion, and Bokeh Effect Control. The device is capable of shooting videos at 4K (30 frames per second).
Moving around the front, the Realme 6 sports a 16MP selfie snapper with an f/2.0 aperture. The front camera comes with a 79.3-degree field-of-view. It records 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the Realme 6 is powered by a 2.05GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T chipset, which is paired with an ARM G76 GPU, 4GB/6GB/8GB of LPDDR4x quad-channel RAM, and 64GB/128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. If this much storage does not suffice for your media consumption needs, the same can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card.
Moving on to the battery of the device, the Realme 6 comes with a 4,300mAh battery, which has support for up to 30W of fast charging. The phone can be charged via a USB Type-C charging port.
In the software department, Realme 6 runs the latest Android 10 OS out of the box, with the company’s in-house Realme UI skin baked atop.
