Realme is gearing up for the launch of a new GT series smartphone. The company might launch the Realme GT Neo 5 as its new premium smartphone in China in the coming weeks. The GT Neo 5 will launch as a successor to the GT Neo 3 series, which was launched earlier this year with up to 150W fast charging support. The exact launch date of the GT Neo 5 series is unknown. Realme is expected to announce more details about the same soon. Meanwhile, the Realme GT Neo 5 series specifications have been tipped.
Realme is said to launch two smartphones in the lineup. These will be called the GT Neo 5 and GT Neo 5 Pro. Tipster Digital Chat Station has uploaded the specifications of the two phones ahead of their official debut. Let’s take a look at the Realme GT Neo 5 series specifications, features and other details.
Realme GT Neo 5 Series Specifications
Realme GT Neo 5 series will include two smartphones. The company is likely to debut the GT Neo 5 Pro alongside the vanilla model. According to tipster Digital Chat Station (via), the two smartphones — GT Neo 5 and GT Neo 5 Pro — will be similar, except for the battery and fast charging tech.
The devices will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution of 2772×1240 pixels. The company is said to have bumped up the refresh rate support from 120Hz to 144Hz as well. Both phones are likely to sport a hole-punch cutout at the top.
Under the hood, there will be a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. This is contrary to some rumours, which suggested that the Neo 5 series will feature a Dimensity 8200 SoC. The devices will also feature a triple-camera setup on the back.
According to the tipster, the phones will feature a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS). The camera sensor is the same one rumoured to feature in the OnePlus 11 5G. Digital Chat Station further revealed that the phone will have an auxiliary lens of f/1.79 and a 25mm telephoto lens. The device will offer support for 0.6-20x zoom.
There will be an in-display fingerprint scanner as well. The phone will use a plastic frame and come with RGB lightning, something that we often see in gaming phones.
Coming to the differentiating specs, one of the two phones will feature a 5000mAh battery and support 150W fast charging. This could well be the vanilla model. The Pro model could pack a smaller 4600mAh battery and support much faster 240W fast charging out of the box.
Realme is expected to launch the phones with Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 out of the box. The devices could debut in the first quarter of 2023.
