Realme has reportedly been gearing up to launch Realme GT Neo 5 SE in China. The smartphone is an affordable variant of the Realme GT Neo 5, launched in China on February 2023. Realme launched the GT Neo 5 smartphone globally as Realme GT 3 at the MWC 2023 event. Previously, the device appeared on many certification websites, including MIIT, TENAA, and 3C. The forthcoming smartphone was also listed in GeekBench, tipping the chipset details of the device. Ahead of the developments, Realme has confirmed (via) the launch of the upcoming smartphone in China.
Realme GT Neo 5 SE Rumoured Specifications
A new teaser from Realme confirmed that the Realme GT Neo 5 SE would be launched soon in China. The teaser reads, “a new player will be debuted in the GT Neo 5 series, which would be an SE variant.” Apart from this, the teaser hasn’t revealed any other information about the forthcoming smartphone.
The GeekBench listing of the smartphone revealed that it would sport an announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Youth Edition chipset. Qualcomm announced a product event on March 17, where it is expected to launch the SM7475 chipset. Realme will likely launch the Neo 5 SE smartphone after the Qualcomm launch event. The chipset is likely to be called Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1 or 7 Gen 2, an underclocked 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
The SoC is said to have four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz, three at 2.5 GHz, one at 2.9 GHz, and Adreno 730 GPU. The GeekBench scores of the chipset surpassed Dimensity 8200 and are comparable with the Dimensity 9000 chipset. The listing also revealed that the smartphone would bear the model number RMX3700 and be available with 8GB of RAM.
The listing also confirms that it would run on Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13. Digital Chat Station had previously tipped the specifications of the smartphone. Realme is said to equip the Realme GT Neo 5 SE with a 6.74-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution. The display will have a refresh rate of 144 Hz, 2160Hz PWM dimming, and a Tianma T7+ panel. OnePlus previously used the same panel for the OnePlus Ace 2V smartphone.
Realme will equip the smartphone with a triple rear camera setup comprising a primary 64MP OmniVision sensor. The sensor will be equipped with an f/1.79 aperture and OIS. An 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and 2MP macro sensor will accompany the primary sensor. Compared with GT Neo 5, Realme will remove the RBG lights from the camera module.
The display will house the 16MP selfie sensor inside the centered punch-hole. Realme GT Neo 5 SE would be backed by a large 5500 mAh battery which supports 100W SuperVOOC charging. Realme will launch the smartphone in global markets under a different moniker.
