Up until now, we were made to believe that the iQOO 3 5G smartphone would be India’s first-ever 5G smartphone. Now, it turns out that the throne will be taken over by Realme as the company has officially announced that it will launch the Realme X50 Pro 5G smartphone in India on February 24, one day ahead of the iQOO 3 5G smartphone. The company has set the same launch schedule for the device’s Indian launch and its Chinese launch. Let’s have a look at what all we know about the Realme X50 Pro 5G smartphone so far.

Realme X50 Pro 5G Will be India’s First 5G Smartphone, to Launch on February 24

Madhav Sheth, CEO, Realme mobiles took it to Twitter to break the news of the Realme X50 Pro 5G launch in India. His tweet proudly confirms the launch date and the fact that the Realme X50 Pro 5G will hold the glory of being the first-ever 5G smartphone in India. This comes right after iQOO started advertising its iQOO 3 5G smartphone to be the first one to achieve this feat.

Speaking of the specifications of the Realme X50 Pro 5G, the device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 5G platform, which will be paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. It is unclear as to whether or not there will be scope for storage expansion. As far as the OS is concerned, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will run on the latest Android 10 OS out of the box with the company’s in-house Realme UI baked on top of it.

For optics, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will utilize a quad rear camera setup, with a 64MP primary sensor and a dual punch-hole selfie snapper, the resolutions of which, are unknown as of now. Speaking of the display, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will flaunt an AMOLED display, making us believe that it could sport an in-display fingerprint scanner. Just in case you are unaware, the vanilla Realme X50 5G smartphone had a side-mounted fingerprint scanner because of the IPS LCD display it came with. Furthermore, the Realme X50 Pro is confirmed to feature up to 65W of SuperDart charging. Moving on to the display of the device, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is confirmed to feature a dual punch-hole display with Full HD+ resolution.
