Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi could launch a new budget smartphone soon in India. The company is said to be working on the launch of the Redmi 11 Prime 5G in India. According to a new report, the device will launch in India as a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 11E 5G from China. The Note 11E 5G was launched in India as the POCO M4 5G with some minor tweaks in the spec sheet. The same phone was launched in Indonesia as the Redmi 10 5G.
XiaomiUI claims that the Redmi 11 Prime 5G is codenamed ‘Light’ and has the model number 22041219I. The device will launch in India as a rebadged Redmi 10 5G from Indonesia, which is the same Note 11E 5G from China. Redmi 11 Prime 5G India Launch Tipped
Redmi 11 Prime 5G will make its official debut in India in the coming days. The company has not officially confirmed the launch date at the moment. Meanwhile, XiaomiUI claims that the 11 Prime 5G will come packed with the same specifications as Redmi 10 5G from Indonesia.
The rest of the specifications are the same. The India variant, which will be called the 11 Prime 5G, will sport a 6.58-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate display. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC under the hood. The phone will feature a 50MP dual-camera setup with a 2MP secondary sensor. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and support for AI face unlock.
The 11 Prime 5G will run Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. It will pack a 5000 mAh battery and support 18W fast charging out of the box. For selfies, the phone will have a 5MP front camera inside the water-drop notch.
The India pricing of the 11 Prime 5G is expected to be around Rs 12,000. Xiaomi is expected to launch the phone ahead of the festive season in India.
