Redmi 8 Specifications

The most interesting feature of the Redmi 8 is its massive, 5000mAh battery. The device even supports 18W fast charging. And what’s even better is that there is a USB Type-C port, unlike most entry-level smartphones that have a microUSB port.

The second exciting feature of the Redmi 8A is that its display comes with Corning Gorilla 5 protection. So, you can rest assured that the display can take some beating. Speaking of which, the display is a 6.22-inch unit with HD+ resolution, and it has a V-shaped notch at the top.

The smartphone comes with two rear cameras – a 12MP primary camera with dual-pixel phase-detection autofocus, and a 2MP depth-sensor to aid in images with bokeh effect. The primary camera can record Full HD videos at 30 frames per second. The front-facing camera is an 8MP unit.

The Redmi 8 features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, which is in the more affordable Redmi 8A. The chipset is made on 12nm+ fabrication process, and it has eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores and Adreno 505 GPU. On the software side of things, there is Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.

In spite of being so affordable, the Redmi 8 features P2i splash-resistance coating, which ensures that your device stays intact against minor liquid spills on your smartphone. Other features of Redmi 8 include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, and a uniquely designed rear panel.
