Redmi A1 Spotted on FCC, Geekbench and IMEI Certification Websites, Could Launch in India Under POCO Lineup

Xiaomi appears to be planning to introduce a new entry-level series under the Redmi branding. An upcoming Xiaomi smartphone with model number 220733SL has now been spotted on the IMEI database by noted Xiaomi tipster Kacper Skrzypek. The IMEI database for the Xiaomi 220733SL reveals that it will launch as the Redmi A1. We at MySmartPrice also managed to spot the upcoming Redmi 220733SL on FCC certification and the TUV Rheinland website. Going by the model number, it appears to be the European variant of the upcoming Redmi device.

We also spotted the global variant of the Redmi A1 with model number 220733SG on Geekbench 5 database. Also, the Indian variant of the Redmi A1 with model number 220733SI has cleared BIS certification, so the Redmi A1 India launch is definitely on the cards. Also, alongside the 220733SI, we also spotted the 220733SPI on BIS which suggests that the device will also be rebranded under POCO lineup for the Indian market.

Xiaomi Redmi A1 Will Be Powered by MediaTek Helio A22

The Redmi A1 (global variant) managed to score 141 points in the single-core round of the Geekbench 5 test. Whereas, in the multi-core test, the score was recorded as 497 points. The benchmark listing also reveals the presence of a quad-core MediaTek processor with 2.0GHz peak frequency and codename ice. Based on this, it appears that the Redmi A1 will be powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 processor.


To those unaware, the MediaTek Helio A22 is quite an old processor and Xiaomi used it in Redmi 6A back in 2018. The system on chip on the device will be paired with 3GB of RAM. The benchmark listing also reveals that the device will come pre-loaded with Android 12.

Also, the FCC listing for the device also reveals the dimension of the Redmi A1. It will be around 164.67mm in length and will be around 76.56mm wide. The certification listing also reveals that the smartphone will support 2.4GHz WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
