Redmi Note 12 Turbo Launch Confirmed: What You Need to Know

The Redmi Note 12 Turbo is set to launch as a new upper mid-range smartphone. The phone is likely to prioritise performance with a new chip inside. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Note 12 Turbo will launch with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC under the hood.

The SoC was announced earlier this week and is based on a 4nm process. The tri-cluster setup has one prime core clocked at 2.91GHz. It has three performance cores clocked at 2.5GHz and four efficiency cores clocked at 1.8GHz. There is an Adreno 725 GPU under the hood as well. The SoC is claimed to offer flagship-grade performance while being about 50 per cent more powerful than the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. It is also said to be 13 per cent more efficient compared to its predecessor.

Other than this, Xiaomi has not confirmed any details about the upcoming Turbo Note smartphone. However, thanks to the rumour mill, some key specifications of the upcoming Note series phone have been tipped.

The Note 12 Turbo is said to feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The screen will refresh at a 120Hz refresh rate as well. Some rumours suggest that the phone will have a 144Hz refresh rate. We will have to wait for some official details to confirm the refresh rate details. We can expect the phone to sport thin bezels around the flat display. There will be a hole-punch cutout at the top of the phone’s display for the front camera.

On the back, the Note 12 Turbo is said to have a triple-camera setup. It is likely to feature a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. Currently, the exact sensor size and other related details are under wraps.

Xiaomi is said to pack a beefy 5500mAh battery in the Note 12 Turbo. The phone is said to offer 67W fast charging support as well. In terms of RAM and storage, the Note 12 Turbo might offer 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It will run on the latest Android 13 update and have a layer of MIUI 14 on top.
