Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of the year. It is the third title in the popular Spider-Man series after the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man in 2018 and the spin-off title Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales in 2020. The upcoming title is already up for pre-orders but to celebrate the release, Sony has unveiled a new PlayStation 5 Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition bundle at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC).
Sony PlayStation 5 Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle Pre-orders, Price, and Availability
The PlayStation 5 Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition bundle will go on pre-orders from July 28 which is next week. It will be available for purchase from September 1. The good thing is that if you already have the console, you can choose to buy the custom faceplates and DualSense wireless controller separately. Sony has not revealed the prices of any of the items yet.
The bundle will be available in many countries worldwide through select retailers. Buyers from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria, and Portugal will also be able to purchase the bundle directly from the PlayStation website. Since Sony released the Spider-Man Limited Edition bundle in India in 2018, this new bundle should arrive in the country too.
Sony PlayStation 5 Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle: What do you get?
The PlayStation 5 Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition bundle has custom packaging that differentiates it from the standard edition. It shows Spider-Man, the special edition console, and a matching DualSense wireless controller. The new design is inspired by Venom and the symbiote as they play a crucial role in the upcoming title.
The console’s front cover has the Spider-Man icon in the bottom corner and you can see the symbiote moving towards it for the take-over. The back cover represents the complete takeover and bonding between the symbiote and the host. It also shows the iconic white Spider-Man icon from Insomniac’s Advanced Suit.
The DualSense wireless controller has a similar design approach. It shows the symbiote has taken over the host for the majority of the part. You can see the Spider-Man icon right in the center of the touchpad.
Jacinda Chew, Senior Art Director at Insomniac Games said, “The design was inspired by the in-game symbiote that’s taking over the console and controller, but you can still see some of the underlying red under the tendrils. This represents the various ways players will experience the symbiote takeover in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a constant push and pull for dominance whether it’s internal or external and the outcome is not certain.”
The limited-edition bundle further includes a voucher code for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 digital version. This code will be redeemable once the game releases on September 20. Buyers will get all the Spider-Man 2 pre-order bonuses an early unlock Arachknight Suit for Peter with 3 additional color variants, an early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with 3 additional color variants, an early unlock Web Grabber gadget, and 3 skill points.
