Rocksteady Studios’ start with its much-hyped and delayed title Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League has been the exact opposite of what many must have anticipated. The game is set to release on February 2 but it offers 72 hours early launch access to Deluxe Edition buyers. However, a bug forced the studio to take down the servers just an hour after the release.

Suicide Squad Game Servers Offline Due to a Bug

Suicide Squad’s early access first went live in New Zealand and some gamers also used the region trick to start playing ahead of the schedule. As they had barely spent about an hour in the game, they found themselves looking at a pop-up revealing the game’s servers had gone offline.

Rocksteady Studios also made the unfortunate announcement through the official Suicide Squad X account. It revealed that a bug is showing the story mode as completed automatically after the first login.

The Suicide Squad servers have been made offline for an indefinite period. The studio said, “To resolve this issue, we will be performing maintenance on the game servers. During this time the game will be unavailable. We expect this to take several hours and will update once we have more information.”

The studio shared another post a few hours later to reveal that the bug had been identified. It added, “We have identified the problem that was affecting player profiles and are currently testing a fix. We hope to implement it and have the game back online as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

At the time of writing this, there are no concrete details on when Suicide Squad players can expect servers to come online again. This has surely been a frustrating experience for gamers, especially considering they paid more for the Deluxe Edition. A significant portion of the 72 hours early launch access window is already over with players not being able to play.

Many buyers have been asking for a refund but the studio is yet to offer any clarification on the situation. Even if it agrees, it is hard to say if it will be a full refund or partial depending on what duration of early access is available to gamers. Nevertheless, we will make sure to keep you in the loop regarding Suicide Squad servers as well as the refund situation.
