Update 1 (April 5th at 9:15 AM): Just as expected, TENAA has now updated the V1901A and V1901T listings on its website with detailed specifications of the upcoming smartphone. The smartphone is listed to feature a 6.35-inch display with 720 x 1544 HD+ resolution. As is usually the case, TENAA has not specified the name of the chipset powering the device. It has only revealed that the V1901A and V1901T run on an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. As suggested by the smartphone’s Geekbench listing, it will likely run on a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, clubbed with 4GB of RAM. As for storage, the device will be available in 64GB and 128GB variants.

Moving on to optics, the upcoming Vivo budget Android smartphone will have a total of four cameras. At the rear will be a triple-camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor, 8MP secondary sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, it will have an 8MP resolution snapper housed inside the waterdrop notch. The TENAA listing also confirms the presence of a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 256GB.

Earlier:

An unannounced Vivo smartphone with model number V1901A was spotted on the Geekbench benchmark database last month, running on a MediaTek Helio P35 octa-core processor. The smartphone has now appeared on the TENAA website, alongside the V1901T variant.

Vivo V1901 Will Sport Triple Rear Cameras

The Vivo V1901A/T images on the TENAA website reveal the device will come with triple cameras at the rear. On the front, we can see that the device has a waterdrop-style notch at the top of the display. Even though the resolution of the display panel has not been listed just yet, the TENAA listing does confirm a 6.35-inch display size. As for physical dimensions, the Vivo V1901A/T is said to measure 159.43 x 76.77 x 8.92mm. One of the main selling points of the smartphone is expected to be great battery life, thanks to a massive 4880mAh capacity battery.

As I mentioned earlier, the Vivo V1901A variant had been spotted on Geekbench with a Helio P35 octa-core chipset inside a few weeks back. If the Geekbench listing was genuine, the V1901 could be Vivo’s first affordable smartphone to offer a triple-camera setup at the rear. Apart from a Helio P35 chipset, the Geekbench listing had also revealed the handset will come equipped with 4GB of RAM. As for software, the smartphone will be running on Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.0 out of the box.

While the complete hardware specifications of the Vivo V1901A/T have not been listed on the TENAA website yet, we expect the agency to update the listings within the next few days. The appearance of the Vivo V1901A and V1901T variants on the TENAA website also suggests the Chinese smartphone maker may be planning to introduce the smartphone in its home market very soon. However, it remains to be seen if the Helio P35-powered device will be making its way to markets outside China.
