
Vivo launched the Vivo V20, the successor to the Vivo V19 at an event in India last week. The new V-series phone comes with a refreshing design and is just 7.38mm thick. The smartphone packs an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G with up to 8GB RAM, and a 64MP triple-rear camera setup. Vivo V20 vs Vivo V19: Price in India
Vivo V20 and Vivo V19 cost the same as of now. At the time of writing this post, both the devices are priced at Rs. 24,990 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage version costs Rs. 27,990.
Vivo V20 vs Vivo V19: Design
Vivo devices have always been known for their designs and both these devices are no exception in this department. Both the phones feature a modern bezel-less design with waterdrop and a dual-punch-hole notch respectively. These devices feature a glass-sandwich design and have a camera island on the top left corner. The Vivo V20 is a bit lighter at 171grams compared to the Vivo V19 that weighs 186.5grams. Vivo V20 has a camera module that looks similar to that of Vivo V50. The Vivo V20 retails in Midnight Jazz, Moonlight Sonata, and Sunset Melody colour variant while the V19 is sold in Mystic Silver and Piano Black colour options.
Vivo V20 vs Vivo V19: Display
Both the phones feature a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels resulting in a pixel density of about 400ppi. There is an optical in-display fingerprint sensor on both the devices for unlocking the device. The Vivo V19 packs a dual-punch-hole notch on the top left, while V20 gets a waterdrop notch.
Vivo V20 vs Vivo V19: Performance
The V20 gets an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC compared to the Snapdragon 712 on the Vivo V19. Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G is an octa-core processor that is built on an 8nm fabrication processor, while the Snapdragon 712 is built on a 10nm processor. The phone also comes with Adreno 618 GPU compared to the Adreno 616 GPU on the Vivo V19. These devices come with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 256GB UFS 2.1 storage which can further be expanded with the help of a dedicated micro-SD card slot.
The V20 runs Android 11 based Funtouch OS 11, while the Vivo V19 boots Funtouch OS 10 which is based on Android 10.
Vivo V20 vs Vivo V19: Camera
The Vivo 20 features a 64MP triple-rear camera setup compared to the 48MP quad-rear camera setup on its predecessor, Vivo V19. The primary sensor on the newer V series phone is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP mono lens with f/2.4 aperture. The Vivo V19 packs an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture.
Coming to the selfies, the Vivo V20 has a 44MP front shooter with f/2.0 aperture. While the Vivo V19 packs dual front cameras with a 32MP primary shooter that has f/2.0 aperture. The primary front shooter on the V19 gets coupled with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture.
Vivo V20 vs Vivo V19: Battery and Charging
The V20 packs a 4,000mAh battery, while the Vivo V19 has a 4,500mAh battery. These devices support 33W fast charging via a Type-C port.
Vivo V20 vs Vivo V19: Verdict
Vivo has upgraded the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC on the V20 compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 on the Vivo V19. The V20 packs a 64MP triple-rear camera setup compared to the 48MP quad-rear camera setup on the Vivo V19.
