Vivo X Flip Listed in 3C Certification: Which Means It Could Launch Soon

Vivo will launch its first clamshell foldable Vivo X Flip smartphone soon. The smartphone has been listed in 3C and GeekBench revealing the specifications of the device.

Vivo launched its first foldable smartphone Vivo X Fold in China on April 2022. The smartphone later made its way to global markets such as Europe. The company later launched Vivo X Fold Plus to compete with products such as Mi Mix 2. The brand has been gearing up to launch Vivo X Fold 2 and its first clamshell foldable smartphone Vivo X Flip. The upcoming flip smartphone is aimed to take on Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and OPPO Find N2 Flip. Ahead of the launch, the forthcoming X Flip smartphone has been spotted in 3C certification (via), indicating that the launch is nearing.

Vivo X Flip 3C Certification and Known Specifications

The device has been listed in 3C with the model number V2256A and reveals that the X Flip would support 44W fast charging tech. The smartphone would be accompanied by an 11VDC 4A charger which is Vivo’s Flashcharge 2.0 adapter. Apart from this, the listing doesn’t reveal any other specifications of the upcoming flip smartphone.


Vivo X Flip

Previously, the smartphone was listed in GeekBench, revealing the chipset details. The listing tells us that the smartphone would be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, similar to Vivo X Fold Plus. It also reveals that the smartphone would run on Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 out of the box. The chipset pairs with up to 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device is expected to be available in a lower variant with 8GB RAM.

There were reports that the upcoming smartphone would use a 6.8 inches OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. The display will have a refresh rate of 120Hz and a centred punch-hole. The exact size of the cover display is unknown at the moment. However, it is tipped that the device will feature a cover display in a square design.

Vivo is expected to equip Vivo X Flip with a dual-rear camera setup similar to other clamshell foldable smartphones. The setup will likely consist of a primary 50MP Sony IMX 866 sensor and a secondary 12MP Sony IMX 663 sensor. The secondary sensor will be an ultra-wide sensor, which could get tuning from Zeiss. The exact detail of the front camera is unknown at the moment.

Vivo is likely to equip the smartphone with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone is reportedly backed by a 4400 mAh battery with support for 44W fast charging tech. There are rumours that Vivo will launch the smartphone along with Vivo X Fold 2 in April 2023.
